John had been divorced for 8 years and I had been divorced for 1 year. We lived about 15 miles apart and probably would never have met if not for the website Largefriends.com. We communicated by e-mail for a while then by phone. The phone conversations would last for hours and we spent most of the time laughing until our sides hurt. When we decided to meet I chose Rita's Italian Ice. It was a public place and a sunny afternoon. We had the same chemistry in person and have been together ever since.
A year to the day of our first meeting, John proposed via the billboard in front of Rita's Italian Ice. I said "yes" followed by clapping and congratulations of strangers. We are now planning the wedding.
