I think it would be a good idea for men or women to share their stories. There are too many people out here that do not tell the truth about themselves. I came across a situation where a woman was almost raped. The person had a picture that was not his (right away that should be a warning). He tried to rape her on the first date and she was fortunate that a person intervened. Please be careful. Also there is the marital situation. One must be aware of anything that just does not seem to manifest total honesty. Thank you all and God bless.

what about those that have the scam of they are widowed and have a young child but work outside the US. I have seen way to many scams that are run like this and I feel sorry if there really is a man that is true but more then not it is a scam and they don't even use spell check.

If the person asks to be contacted directly instead of through the site, this is a red flag. There are a lot of people looking on this site for lonely women, thinking we will send them money. Never send money to anyone you meet on the Internet!

    Hello Everyone!

Yes, this is so true, and a very good point. As Jjiggl said (and now in my own words), if a situation does not feel right, end it before it starts.

Another tip I can think of is if you're going to pick a place to meet, go somewhere where you feel comfortable - in public, in a neighborhood you're familiar with etc. I've picked places where I've known people I know occasionally hang out. If I ever needed help, they would step in.

Wow!!! The fact that the picture was not him should have made her decide not to go out on a date with the man.

Women, when are we going to heed the red flags that are waved in our faces?? If we would pay attention to them, then I am sure that we would not have so many "dating scam" stories.
