Relationships - not for sissies or faint of heart! Romance

    Don't give up.
I do quite a bit of counseling as well as healing in my job. I see people repeat the same mistakes over & over. In our hurt (divorce, separation, death) & loneliness, we lose perspective. It feals like a void opens up in us. The universe (& our minds) can't stand a void...we typically end up filling it with negativity or unhealthy actions (casual sex, drugs, alcohol...put in your own answer).  Many people end up trying to find something to fill the void.
There's an old saying "If you don't love/like yourself, how can you have any left to give to someone else". It goes for communicating as well. If you can't communicate well with yourself - want you really want, acknowledging the blessings in our lives, our achievements (big & small). Why would we expect someone else to do that job? Or fill in that "void"?  Nobody knows you like you do. And noboby else can make you the best you can be.
People tend to migrate to happy, healthy, and empowered people. You can be that person!
Be your own best friend first, then watch as people start noticing the changes in you and wanting to be around you more. Dates and friendships will happen

Thanks for the welcome! The secret to good advice - practice:)  I just returned from a trip to the coast and while there went into a gift shop. There were "words of wisdom" signs for sale. One caught my attention..."Some people dream of being successful. Others wake up and work to make it happen."
    Have a great day!

Actually, great advice. Thing about advice is, it's almost always easier said than done. :) Hi and welcome to LF.
