Just out of curiosity what would be your most romantic evening? Roses, wine, diner, and dancing, holding hands walking along a moonlight beach, just cuddling on the couch, what would it be for you?

I think it is different for each person. To me it would be dinner on the waterfront and then walking hand in had along the beach having a great conversation about anything and everything. I love it when I can talk to a guy and have stimulating conversations.

A romantic walk downtown on the St. Louis Riverfront, a carriage ride, fantastic dinner and some chocolate for desert! More than likely we'll put the chocolate on one another!!

Mary, you hit the nail on the head with the unexpected comment.

BTW Hello all from a newbie!

I really couldn't be able to tell you what my ideal romantic evening would be because it really can't be planned, its different for everyone.

But I can tell you that the most romantic thing that ever happened to me was only about 5 minutes long, not a hour or an evening or a date. Just one little thing.

I was really upset about something and I cant even remember what it was now, and my guy friend came over to check on me (we lived on the same floor). My music was playing, not even a love song, but he helped me up and we danced. He just held me and told me I was a great person. Its those little things that are romantic and loving and just melt your heart and can make you see someone in a different light.

I think anything unexpected and thoughtful can and could be considered romantic from someone you are interested in. I never considered myself much of a romantic, but after dating a few men who believed in treating a lady like a lady; I'd say for me, it's that unexpected bouquet of flowers or a simple rose, a card to say I'm thinking about you, being brought to your favorite restaurant just because, or just holding someone all night watching tv.

I think the more you care about someone, and when they do things beyond the norm, without being in 'trouble' makes you feel special and appreciated...and that's very romantic as far as I'm concerned.

Ahh, an excuse to daydream for a bit...;-) For me, it's cooking an amazing meal together, flowers and candles on the table, bottle(s) of great wine shared, jazz on the stereo and wonderful witty conversation.

Speaking only for myself and not the whole female population....
Really id have to say all those things you mentioned are very cliche and not appealing to me...
Give me a roaring fire, my p.j's and a yummy cab sav. To talk, debate, not talk, breath, that's how id like to feel i think around someone.....
Normality and everything that's inside of that...
Hmmm but to date id have to actually go out, I dont like that horrible first part, so possibly a yummy ol irish pub for a starter....
Good food, a few drinks and voila!!!
Nothing all plastic and pretend and your safe...

What's everyone elses thoughts I do wonder ?
