My husband and I are hoping to go to the Arizone Renissance Fair next February, but I'm having a hard time finding a plus sized gown for less than $450! Does anyone have any tips they can give me?

Thanks

Shai

One of the great places on ebay is HolyClothing.com...they've got great dresses. I haven't bought them, but several friends of mine did for some costume parties.

Yes, getting a pattern and fabric of your choice then having someone sew for you is definitely the way to go. I have several Renaissance outfits and all, except one, have been made for me by local seamstresses. I'll look for the catalog that I got the other one from and, if I can find it, will post their website here.

ebay is fantastic for plus sized clothes. I used to have to go to loads of work do's and i got some stunning outfits at bargain prices, quite often brand spanking new! aurora x
