Has this ever happened to you? You are just sitting around, doing nothing, maybe reading the newspaper or flipping the channels on the tv, hanging around the house and just being a t*urd, and from out of nowhere you hear a few chords of a song that you haven't heard in a long time? And it is not just ANY song, but a song that you used to jam to w-a-a-a-y back in the day when you were young, and hot and your sh*t didn't stink and you thought you were ALL THAT? And the song was so great that you said that this song was YOUR song? And every time that it came on and you were in public, you mouthed the words lightly and to yourself, but when you were at home in your bedroom, you played that song OVER and OVER and OVER and you looked at yourself in the mirror as you used your hair brush as a microphone and SANG that song with so much FEELING and so much SOUL that you even had moves to that song? You felt that song so much that you had facial expressions for every word, every chord of that song? You loved that song so much that you thought that you sang that song better than the person that recorded it? You felt that song so strongly and sang it with so much emotion that you were SPENT when the song was over? You know what I am talking about? If you do, what was YOUR song? What song brings out the inner crooner in you?

I would have to say the songs that move me to sing are all oldies but goodies. I love Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Nina Simone. But for recent music give me Fiona Apple or Dead can Dance. I love to sing along to those chicks.

Well as a former member of a country/souther rock band I do this quite often especially to other people. It drives them nuts when Cocaine is on.....'cause I used to sing this in our band along with THe Breeze,Freebird,Give me 3 steps,Sweet Home Alabama and a lot of others. The one that we didn't do but I love to sing it is Pinball Wizard. The guys at work still look at me like I'm crazy when I crank up the music and let'er rip. I know exactly and oh too well how you feel.

LOL, well.. back in the day, when my sh*t didn't stink (10-12), it was "hopelessly devoted to you" - Olivia Newton-John. Or anything from the NKOTB. LMAO! Okay, that's our little secret.

This is gonna sound so corny, but 'My Way' by the wonderful Frank Sinatra just makes me cry, and sends shivers down my back. The words are a perfect reflection on life when you look back.

I never got to see him live as I gave the tickets to my grandparents the last time he was in the UK, but he was fantastic by all accounts, and saved 'My Way' till last.

Unforgettable, by Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole. I love the absolutely beautiful way that song just hits the nerves. It's a lovely song to dance to. They don't write songs like that anymore.
