My dad's side is Irish, my mom's is Slovak. I was raised Irish Catholic, my mom doesn't know very much about her culture or background, so I definitely identify more with my Irish side. I've spent some time in Ireland and I'd like to become one of the few people who emigrate back to Ireland rather than leave it.

Well, I was born and raised in Denmark - and I still live here. So I guess I am pure Danish.

Well, all of my dad's family is German descent. All of my mom's family is Scottish/Danish descent. Even though my family has been in Canada for generations, there are still traditions that we include in holidays from both backgrounds. Can't help but be a mix of backgrounds when you live in Canada.

Take care,
Sarah

Backgrounds, hmm lets see.

Well I'm an American, but I am 2nd gen.

My fathers father immigrated from Russia to the states in the 1950's changed his last name to a British one (Lancaster) to avoid any trouble.
My fathers mother immigrated from Germany in 1946. (another great time to come here. WW2, german, bad all around. Only worse if you were Japanese I guess.)
My mothers father immigrated from what was once Croatia in 1950
My mothers mother immigrated from Poland in 1949.

So to break it down Russian, German, Croation, and Polish.

Every were behind where the iron curtain was, I've got family.
