I have not been to a concert in years...have actually only been to three in my life...Genesis... Billy Squier with Def Leppard and...ashamed to admit it...The Monkees
I recently tried to get tickets to see The Offspring and System of a Down...but they were sold out before i could
As for the Kevin Wilson question Upthere... do u mean Kevin "bloody" Wilson ...???
Sorry for the delay replying not been on here for a while, Thats the one rock, not everyones cup of tea but he is so funny saw him a couple of yrs ago here in the uk
How did you like the KISS/Aerosmith concert luvbrd ...?? I would have LOVED to have seen that double , I have seen KISS 3 times now ( and yes all concerts were almost the same) lol but have never had the opportunity to see Aerosmith ....
I just went to whats called "The Big Day Out" here in sydney last week, there were about 30 bands on 3 diff stages, plus dance music playing in diff auditoriums ... the main bands were The white stripes, Mudvayne, Franz Ferdinand, Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Wolfmother ... it was a good day ... just TOO long, plus the line up wasnt that great I dont think, I just went for the atmosphere... got a nice peeling forehead now as it was a hot steamy day too !
Only been to one concert, that was Phil Collins. But I love going to Broadway Shows. A friend of mine is a marketing executive for a company that deals with Broadway, so I get free tickets almost every few weeks. In 05 I saw 10 shows and have seen 2 in 06 thus far.
I've only been to 2 concerts. The 1st was in 1983 .My mom took myself,my youngest brother & 2 cousins that were visiting from Indiana to see Rick Springfield & 2 yrs ago for my bday my sis took me to see KISS/Aerosmith in Houston.
Let me see,...I think it was Aerosmith...or it was Dio, Motor Head and Iron Maiden cant remember which one was first. Not a big Motor Head fan but ar least I can say I got to see them....gotta love Lemmy..lol
I saw Gary Allan back in Nov 05 - he is country but rocked the place, he sang A Showman's Life with this guy named Jim from KY - this man sounds just like Willie Nelson - could be his illegitimate son:-). I saw Bad Company in Sep 05 (Happy B-day to me), not the original band, but the lead singer was the same. Loved it.
I have also seen Def Leppard, .38 Special, Alabama/Neal McCoy, and my first Bon Jovi in the 8th grade...I remember that one well.
I would love to see John Mayer (I loved the John Mayer Trio concert that was on Directv) and the Rolling Stones.
I'm not much for live music, mostly because it rarely sounds as good as the enhanced CD's, but I did make a special effort to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Oh. My. Gosh. It was absolutely phenomenal. The music and the lights together took my breath away.
The last concert I saw was the Stones, when they rolled thru my town back in Sept. Great show! I've seen many a concert in my day, but don't do it as much anymore. Richie Havens (anyone remember Woodstock?) is coming around in March, so I may go check that out.
I mainly attended concerts in the 80's, a virtual plethora of concerts. The most recent concerts I attended were; Leonard Cohen, Beck, Depeche Mode, The Village People, and local bands in local pubs.
My most memorable concerts were; The Clash, The Cure, Culture Club, OMD and Depeche Mode in the 80's. I also saw: Lover Boy, Bryan Adams, The Psychedelic Furs, Queen, Saga, Rush, Cyndi Lauper, Howard Jones, The Police, Rick James, Peter Tosh, Flock of Seagulls, The Spoons, Tears for Fears, Rod Stewart, David Bowie, J. Geils Band, and if there is more I can't remember right now.
If I were to attend a concert again I would see; The White Stripes, Nick Cave or Leonard Cohen.
While I probably would have never gone except for happenstance, last year while traveling for work, I just happened to stay at a hotel casino that had booked a George Thurogood concert. I ended up attending with some strangers that I met in the hotel bar. There was only about 30 people there and for a tuesday night in frosty Green Bay --- it rocked!
And yes we did have bourbon, shots, and beer---but definitely more than one!
Well I did see Motley and it was AMAZING !!! such an awesome concert !!!!! they didnt skip a beat and had as much energy as if it were 20 years ago ... then I saw Tommy Lee do a DJ gig the next night ... he was pretty damned good at that too ... :D
As for the Kevin Wilson question Upthere... do u mean Kevin "bloody" Wilson ...???
Last concert was just a few weeks ago and it was my fifth time to see Willie Nelson, and he is always GREAT!
Believe it or not suprisingly & embarresingly enough one of the best concerts I ever attended was a Meatloaf concert, second to six row seats at Elton John and Billy Joel when they toured together.
If I could only wish back Freddie Mercury -- I would give anything to see Queen in concert and sing with pride to Fat Bottomed Girls -- you know we do make the rocking world go round!
Last show was Tesla, and that was last year!! Used to be a time that I wouldn't miss any decent concert within a hundred miles of me. Must be gettin' old or something.
