I like being referred to as curvy full figured ^.^ But honestly, doesn't matter too much!

I actually prefer fat. We're all thinking it. I hate euphemisms because I'm a realist. I saw another poster say it's all about tone and that is quite true as well. Although, when referring to others, I will say plus-size or shapely simply because I don't know how sensitive they are about their weight. The last thing I want to do is make someone feel bad (or worse) about themselves. If using a different vernacular makes them feel safe, then I definitely will. When it comes to how I describe myself, I'll be fat all day. No pun intended.

I prefer to be called "a beautiful woman"
...not "a beautiful face" etc
To me, that's almost an insult.

Ever read "The Fat Girls Guide To Life?" by Wendy Shank er.It is hysterical and actually encourages desensitization to the word fat. She encourages its use. "Wow she sure is beautiful and fat." If someone asks you if you're pregnant reply "no, I'm, just fat." Let that person be the humiliated one. Fat as a word is only as powerful as you make it. Words like shapely, full-figured, busty, big boned, Large brick house are all just nicer/euphemistic ways to dance around the word fat. F it we're fat and we are beautiful!

Actually for places like this I am glad we have a nice little term like BBW. That lets someone else know what your body type isn't. I do not have a tiny body if some one is looking for a skinny, athletic build, etc. they know right off the bat. It saves time. There is no perfect term, face it there never will be so we have to work with what we have. It is so much better than obese or morbidly obese!

I have heard people say *i am not big i am just undertall*

Yeah It's one of my fav quotes from south park. Yes I still watch it and could care less if you all hate it.

A character in south park likes to say 'I'm not fat I'm big boned' (that can be taken the wrong way but we are talking about basic body structure here... not any other various parts of the human anatomy.) Anyhow dude is very very undertall shall we say hehehe.

I can't use the undertall thing, I'm not sky high but I am 6 feet tall.

I LIKE "UNDERTALL"!! May I use that? :>)

Hell, I call myself FAT, so if anyone says it, I'm not super sensitive about it....

I spent my young life (before 30) TOO SKINNY and hated it! Now, even though I have a few pounds I'd like to lose, I love that I finally have a round, juicy, FAT behind I can be proud of!!

I like to be called a human being to tell the truth...
Very often -at least here in Germany- I have the feeling people see me as some sort of mutant or a monster.

I personally do not understand, why I have to tell others that I am "fat" or why they have to tell me because it is clearly noticeble.
If people say to me "Geez, you're FAT", it hurts me but I manage to say "Oh, so nice of you to inform me. I wouldn't have realized it otherwise!" or at least something in that direction.
Still it hurts because I am reduced to how I look.. and that takes me every chance I had...

If I chat to someone I stay sort of cryptic I guess... I say: "I'm almost as wide as I'm tall." Or I just tell them my weight and height.. they can figure it out be theirselves..

Somehow large people are just labled that: big, large, fat, whatever... like they don't have other looks besides the bodyshape.. no race, no hair color, no nothing..

Thin or skinny people are labled in other ways, like: "blond", or by the way they dress or their name (f.ex. how do you expect a "Tiffany" to be like?).
Stereotypes rule the world and that's what lables are, right?
I think it makes others feel safer because they can think they "know" you.

In my profile I say I'm a BBG (Big Beautiful Goth) and I have to admitt I do not realy feel comfy with it, because I never thought (and still don't think) of myself as beautiful.

Oh, well.. my two cents.. (or maybe it's already a dollar..)

Best Wishes,

~MorrigansTear~
