Hello beautiful BB Girly i just wanted to say that you are beautiful & that im truly interested in you so please call me & step out on faith & recieve your blessed man that is in me....Much Love "Shondell" Bka "Chief" of the singing group 4-Play...
I started working out when I started college. I figured 18 was too young to be on cholesterol and blood pressure medicine. I started working out with my sister 4 times a week and serious dieting. I lost about 50 lbs in 5 months and have stayed there ever since. I am currently a size 16. I have just started working out again since my weight has started going up again though. I also have started showing signs of having the same degenerative spine disorder that my father has. I need to stay in shape to keep my spine as healthy as possible. So I work out now about 4 times a week for an hour doing a mix of yoga, pilates, kickboxing, taebo, and hip hop dance. It is really fun and very aerobic. I am feeling better and my posture is improving already. Size doesn't matter...your health is what matters most.
i personally am pretty happy the way i am.
yes there are odd days were i wish i was thinner, try working in a clothes shop full of skinny girls!!
im between a size 18/24, depending on were i buy my clothes and how they fit.
im a big girl, always have been.
if anyone says to me the word exercise, diet, healthy i say stop swearing at me!!
i am who i am, end of.
my attitude is if you dont like what you see dont look, some say its a good attitude to have, others say it isnt.
my friend keeps trying to drill into me be loud and proud!!
im slowly getting there i promice!!
I agree with you Jngirl. I've been amazed at how we allow other people to dictate our happiness depending on the size we are.
I've never been a thin girl; always been a big-boned girl & very short (4-11). There have been times in my life when I've been smaller than I am now, but I am more than just this body. Yes, I do want to lose weight so I can be healthier, but I am just as beautiful now as I will also be if I lose weight. I am just happy with the person that I am inside. I am a deeply compassionate and possess an understanding heart who loves to live life by enjoying and experiencing everything that it has to offer. I love to laugh at myself, knowing that it's perfectly human to make mistakes and to smile and learn from it. If others have problems accepting me for who I am b/c they can't get past their misperceptions b/c of the way I "look" on the outside, it's their loss. They lose the opportunity to know someone who is beautiful on the outside and the inside.
On this website, I have met many bbw?s and bhm?s that are very beautiful and handsome. Their personalities shine through the words they have written on their profiles. Some are strong, proud individuals while others allow us to see a vulnerable side to them; each of them wonderful, beautiful individuals. I've made some good friends on this site, and very happy to have met them.
For those bbw's and bhm's that are able to shed the pounds - that's wonderful. I'm very happy for you! I know it takes a lot of work and dedication. Way to go!
For those who are large but know that they beautiful and don't permit other unimportant people to dictate their happiness; you are all the more beautiful because of your strength.
For those other bbw's and bhm's who don't realize it and let yourselves feel bad - please don't. Only those who can see past your vulnerability to the person you are inside is worth it. If you want to lose weight for your health?that?s fantastic! Just do it 4 u!
FutureNurseRN write: you know i can't stand the skinny girls who are on a mission to get everybody around them in shape. you know, the ones who eat a pea for lunch and eat nothing the rest of the day for fear of gaining a half ounce? I am a BBW who used to work in long term care (VERY Physical) and now work in a Doctor's office. people who thing that BBW's are all sloppy lazy people really need to wake up and smell the coffee. most of these Skinny girls are worse off health wise than we are, for the simple fact they think they can eat whatever they want and starve themselves for days on end, thinking they are healthy because they weigh 90 lbs. it's all about balance. I have a thyroid condition which contributes to my weight problem, among other health problems. why is it America as a whole is scared of becoming fat, yet scientists and doctors say we're getting fatter every year??? its enough to make one sick.
Girlfriend I feel you. I have a friend who is just like what u describe it drives me crazy. She is 10 years my Junior and it boggles the mind how her self image is so warped. But me confident big girl has no problem with that. I told her if she doesn't eat right her behind is going to look tore down when she is my age and I am only 38 and feel 20 something. America has issues big time! I can't stand being hungry for fear of weight gain if they were smart they would realize eating more will make u lose weight provided the meals are low fat and healthy with exercise.
Honestly, I love myself when I was a skinny rail and now a bbw. Only now my size is a health issue. I have started to work out and I honestly feel great my energy level is far better I am looking forward when I can jog a little and get off this blood pressure medication. Being a large woman is no problem unless it impedes your health or effects your activities or daily living. Not all of us can be a single digit dress size and it is okay because we are all beautiful. When I go to the gym I go without make up and my hair is pulled back my only goalis fitness a healthier lifestyle. Even when the barbies come in with their skimpy outfits trying to get a man I am not intimidated because I know better. I love working out I don't know how much weight will come off but you best believe I don't ever want to be a size 10 again too skinny for me!
I don't give a hoot is I loose a pound or a dress size, but I want to tone a little. I work out at least 4 times a week and watch my eating habits, but nothing seems to get the pounds off, they stay gone when they go, but geting them to say GOOD-BYE is tough. I am the only BBW in my family - extended and otherwise - but I am also the only one who didn't spend 45% or more of my childhood in the hospital so you tell me is skinny a good thing or just being healthy? I choose healthy and I get to eat too!!!!!
Wow interesting topic.....me personally I am fine with the way I look I have discovered no matter how big or small you are you are always going to want to be smaller. I am currently a 18 but would like to be like a 14 but face it this sista like to eat and it just isnt going to work. So I said all this to say be who you are if you don't like being big do something about.....

All of this talk about people's fitness routines have inspired me to pull out my aerobic and yoga tapes and get to action. While I am content mentally with my physical size, I have been told by my doctor that I need to lose weight or I may develop chronic illnesses such as high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes.
Thank you all for posting here. You are inspiring me.
I eat as healthy as i can and exercise on a regular basis. I don't do it to be a smaller person and take up less space, I do it to be healthy and to enjoy life as long as I can.I try not to conform to society's standards.I'm a size 24 and by my doctor the healthiest I've ever been! I've done the crash diets, considered the bypass surgery, and have yo-yoed back and forth for years!! I started (the healthy alternative) about a year ago! I feel like a million bucks!!!
I agree with you about it being easier said than done when it comes to others reacting negatively or having rude comments. I have been overweight since the 2nd grade and it is not going to change. I used to internalize all the rudeness from people, but no more. When people make nasty comments, if you accept it, it is the same as allowing someone to dump their trash on your living room floor. I fight back. Nobody is perfect....nobody. If you look at someone long enough you will find something.....and I will point out their flaws and get on their level. Then they usually back down in shock. I don't know why people think they have the right to dump on people. And furthermore, I think some of these little skinny women are that way because they have to eat their own cooking, lol.
Well it's easy to say just ignore what other people think.. And I'm not condoning changing your self for others at all.. But let's face it no one likes being the.. Object of every ones humor being how low the standards are.. For treating larger people now adays.. And then you have to think about the health issues too.. And even thou people say.. It doesn't affect your health it can.. Being a bbw is fine and I personally don't wanna go below a size 18 or 20.. I guess its really a personal choice in the end..
i'm currently in yoga and next two months i'm joining a rock climbing class...i was always the sports fanatic but with school and work i never had any free time but with my new times ...i have more free time for me.
Classy lady you look like you should be a Fitness trainer at the gym!! lol
I go to Fernwood Womens Gym, its comfy and no guys OR girls for that matter watching me wobble ... lol the atmosphere is good and everyone is there for the same purpose, not to be show ponies like Co-ed gyms ... I remember once being on a treadmill YEARS ago and the girl next to me piped up a conversation ... and the first words to come out of her mouth ... "I used to be like you ... sitting at home, in front of the tellie eating doughnuts and junk all day" .... Hmmmmmm so ... u can IMAGINE after I finished with her they were the LAST words that came out of her mouth !!
I just started working out again on Jan 2nd (yep - one of THOSE people)! I detest gyms that are "meat markets" and am more comfy if there are only a few people present to see me in sweats. It gets easier as time goes on - and now I look forward to it. The tough part is getting there - and not worrying about what others think. I believe that it is more psychological than physical in the beginning. I just focus on my goals when I am there - and pay no attention to the others in the gym - but I did meet a very nice woman at the gym (apparently she was on the exercise bike right next to me - since I dont look around - she told me that in the locker room)!! and now we look forward to seeing each other and having a workout buddy!
