I tend to agree with the idea that people look at a pic and focus on what attracts them the most and tend to forget there are other parts connected. I know I am a bigger person, but I don't let that stop me from being me. I know I am not a toothpick, but I still am sexy in my own way. All of us bigger women need to realize that. We are sexy and there are men (and women for those who swing that way) that appreciate women as they are supposed to be appreciated. Size shouldnt matter because in 20 years.. who's to say you will look the same. It should be about communication and compatibility and companionship. Everyone is going to get old one day, find someone you are able to talk to on a daily basis rather than "oh they are hot!"

I think that perhaps part of the problem is that people tend to look at a picture and either focus on certain parts of it, or idealize parts of it, and then create an image in their minds about the person, one which, invariably, the other person cannot meet, because (speaking from experience) people tend to focus on things that don't matter, rather than the things that do; let's face it, looks change with time, but what makes a person worth getting to know shouldn't be changed by a few gray hairs or a few wrinkles.

Thanks for finally taking this topic to the next level. We are on a plus sized dating website, but yet I see men looking for "average" to "slim" sized girls. I can't make sense of it. BBW- Big Beautiful Women make up the main parts of this site. We are proud of what we look like, even if that means we have a little extra pudge or more meat to us. I don't tell weight either. Just height and dress size. I am a little fearful of my weight at this point. lol But dress size isn't so bad. SO answer me this...why are there people on this site looking for anyone but plus size women/men?

I just recently wrote about this in another post, but it's possible that some of the people you're seeing are BHM's looking for average or thin girls. It's really no different than the BBW's on this site whom don't want BHM's and list they are seeking thin or average-sized guys.

Personally I think both the BBW's and BHM's whom do that should think about why it is they are so against dating somone whom is like them ... says alot about them I suppose, but it's their choice.

Maybe it's not so much that they're against dating someone their size. Perhaps it's as simple as just being attracted to someone of a smaller size. That would seem a bit more feasible to be, but I do take into account that your perspective on it is quite valid also.

First of all, I agree; if you're using *THIS* website, it should be clear that size is not a question that *should* matter; after all, largefriends prety much sums it up.However, one thing that needs be kept in mind is the fact that people often have different definitions of what large is (I recall 25 years ago when my girlfriend who was 5'6" and 170lbs; I was razzed for liking her; some of the comments were downright cruel. Times HAVE changed though... but I bet it still hurts having your feet run over! *grin*

My bet would be that the webmaster/owner(s) has left that option available for those who are not at all interested in BBW / BHM as partner(s) or date(s).

No doubt, as with persons of various colours; there are those who don't prefer their own body type.

Personally, the site name says it all. "LargeFriends".

Frankly I got tired of other sites where I stated clearly in my profile that I am BBW and still had those who liked 'em "skinny" (which, truly, is subjective)

As for how much anyone "weighs" - again, we all carry our poundage/stones/kilograms differently so that number, as with chronological age, has little to nothing to do with who were are as human beings.
