I'm looking for a nice female roommate who would be a friend as well as a house mate to share expenses when I move to Florida towards the end of hurricane season.

I'd like to live near Bradenton (As my very elderly parents in their 90s live near there!) or further central in Manatee County. I'll have my two piggies with me so she should like small pet potbellied piggies.

One pig is disabled and likes to sleep behind my chair. He doesn't walk around the house or get into anything. The other one can walk and he has his own room now, but he could always share a room with me for the sake of space. Both pigs are very gentle and loving.

I'm an easy going person who is very accepting of others and who just adores Florida's west coast. I refuse to wait any longer to live my dream so I'm hoping that I can find a great lady friend to share expenses with!

I think a mobile home with a little yard for my one piggie to roam a bit would be great. I can bring all the pig fence panels to build the fence. Plus, it would be nice to have a place to have a little garden, too.

Laura

Ocean City, hmm? OK, so I was only slightly wrong! hee hee

All the beaches in Southern NJ have gorgeous silver sandy beaches. I believe that it is all unconsolidated marine sand in that area. I know they cleaned it a lot when I was a kid living down there. I've also heard they import some of it, but I'm not sure where from. I'd happily move back to Jersey if it were in a bit more warmer area. {grin} At this point in my life I want WARM!

It is already getting cold enough to make me wear a long sleeved sweater AND my winter coat. Jersey doesn't have the endless open land like Ohio does and that allows the wind to really build up out here. Once the wind gets very high, it is hard to keep warm at all. I'm glad I moved my sweetie piggies inside with me now so they won't die in the cold.

I almost lost one a few years ago. I'm very glad that I saved him from freezing to death, because now he gets a lot of petting and is spoiled quite a bit! {grin} Then again, I can always talk about my piggies, love of beaches and Florida! {giggle}

I'm very glad to have met you! You live in the area where I grew up and it is so nice going down memory lane with you, even from a distance. I still can't believe Cherry Hill Mall isn't a growing gorgeous thing like it was a long time ago.

I remember when it was very small and had some monkeys in the center. Then they had birds and then they got rid of them to build more and soon it was two-leveled, and after that, I don't know since I moved to New England.

I'd like to go back and visit Southern NJ, but probably wouldn't know my way around any more! I'll have to ask you directions whenever I get there! Meanwhile, maybe things will work out in your life so moving to Florida seems like a good thing?!

Have a great day!

Thanks for the nice comments, Rag Doll! By the way, I have a feeling that you live in a town near where I spent all my childhood winters. Plus I saw a nice pic of you on another board here and you looked like you were sitting on my old beach on Long Beach Island or some other part of South Jersey beaches. {grin} The sand was silver and I remember how gorgeous Southern NJ beaches are with that silver and oh-so-clean sand. I liked living in NJ, but at this point, I want to get away from ice cold winters and move closer to my parents, which means Florida.

Thanks for commenting on my topic! And if you ever change your mind, write to me! I won't be moving until I get a few things done where I am now. {giggle}

After the last hurricane I'm rethinking my move to Florida. All I really want is to live in a tropical place away from the cold and closer to the sea. I'm so sick of being cold for months on end.

I'd be happy in any southern state reasonably close to the sea in a small town far from a large city! I would have to check the zoning laws for their acceptance of mini pig pets wherever it was. I won't go into the many problems I've heard about from pig owners who had to either move or give up their precious piggie because they never made one simple phone call to the zoning board of the towns they lived in at the time.

Finding and getting to know my new friend before deciding to move in together would be fun. But, if you have a place relatively near the ocean and have room for an extra person and two sweetie pigs, that would be ok, too. I'm flexible!

Putting an ad up here was just an idea of mine, and so far, I haven't had too much luck with hearing from anyone about this. I had hoped to find someone through here since there are so many folks on this board in the USA who live down south in the warmth instead of the 'freezing your bum off' weather like I'm getting up here now. Pretty soon I will be dealing with the harsh high winds and below freezing temperatures that winter usually has for this area of northwest Ohio's flat farmland with few trees. {shiver}

I do need a roomie due to the fact that I just got out of the hospital, and my present roomie was taking care of the pigs while I was in there for a week. Otherwise they might have starved when I was admitted, which would not have been something I wanted to happen. Pet lovers will understand this!

I hope to hear from someone. If you think this ad is dumb or have other suggestions, feel free to let me know! Tell me how you would do it if your dream was to move to a distant place with similar circumstances. I'll appreciate your suggestions & ideas!

AWWW, I was hoping to find a nice lady friend to share expenses with in Florida to make my dream come true of moving there for the longest time!

Originally, I had hoped that I'd find a sweetheart of a guy to move with me, but I'm not going to wait for that to happen, I would rather take steps to make my dream of moving to Florida come true by sharing expenses with a nice gal who would also be a good friend and love my piggies as much as I do.

First of all I want to say that if I signed a lease with someone, I would NOT walk out and dump things on them. Second of all, I would be happy to share taking care of their pets as well as my own. If I were to go into the hospital, I would hope she would take good care of my piggies for me.

I'm trustworthy, kind, gentle and very loving towards people and animals. I just want a good friend to share life with while I can walk on the sugar-white ground crystal sand and enjoy Florida. At this point I'm not looking for any specific area, since I have a car and can drive to visit my parents occasionally. I cannot live with them, since they live in a retirement community and I'm too young to get in, much less with my sweetie piggies!

I'm not rich, but will do my best to pay my own way and would especially enjoy a sister-like relationship with my house-mate. I have no other real family other than some cousins who are now leading their own lives.

If you don't already live down there but would like to find a place, contact me and I can write back to you so we can get to know what each other is like and looking for in Florida. If you have a child, that is ok, too. I was a great 'aunt' babysitting my cousins when we were all younger and wouldn't mind being ?Aunt Laura? to your little one now.

If you can't write to me here, you can reach me at Y a h 00. com.
Hugs,
Laura
