RPG console games are my favorite. Always have been, probably always will. Resident Evil, Blood Omen, Myst, Castlevania, some other cheesy ones but just as fun. Got hooked on the Crash Bandicoot games for a while.
I got to thinking about it, I haven't played D&D in over 20 years! Time flys by......
XXLBubba write: WoW and any other Blizzard title can waste my time any day. I love fighting games (Street fighter, Mortal Combat.. etc) as well.
After MKII, I couldn't get into the series anymore because they decided drop Raiden. Just didn't feel right using anyone else.
SFIICE (Street Fighter II Champion Edition) has to be my favorite of the SF Series... it got too cartoonish starting with Alpha.
(A properly used Sagat could just about whip ANYONE'S a$$ on that game, although Dragon Punching or Tiger Uppercutting Vega coming off that fence was a b!tch!)
Nobody play good old fashioned "blast the hell outta everything in sight" games? Such as Serious Sam, Medal Of Honor et al.
They're great for relieving stress and contrary to what do gooders would have you believe, they don't make you want to go outside and shoot people in real life.
I know what you mean about the Cliches, one of the best things about our custom system has been the ability to lose the class system, that alone helps to cut down on some of the classic cliches. I suppose I'm lucky in a way that I have a bunch of socially dubious players, whose characters like nothing better than to get a little one-up manship. They may stand shoulder to shoulder against the enemy, but we have lost more characters to player vs. player treachery, than any Barbarian horde could ever accomplish
Okay so with all of us like rpgers.... who wants to be the dm and we could all rp via web? Maybe 2nd edition rules or do ya'll wanna use the new player's handbook??
As much as I enjoy computer games, I'm still an old school RPG player, like most peopleI cut my 1st goblin with D&D, although i find it a little over simplified these days. I run a club session using a custom system, part I.C.E. part Warhammer fantasy. nothing better than roling the bones and kicking the crap out of the Gobbo's.
I'm a gamer! I just got done playing "God Of War" on PS2. It was great!! I completed it on the medium level and now I'm playing it on the "God" level. It's more difficult but, it's one of the greatest games I've ever played!
I'm just waiting for the new Zelda: Twilight Princess for gamecube to be released!
Wow.... I've not run into this many female gamers since I lived in Austin...
I'm a table top RPGer myself. I like 2nd ed. DnD but mainly because I've not yet gotten a chance to play with peeps on the new version 3 player's handbook. I am looking forward to seeing the new rules for Shadowrun though.
I love console games as well and though I su'ck at first person shooters... I still like lobbing tons of grenades at people and then running like the devil. :) I liked Halo but my favorite is still Quake.
Used to like Evercrack and UO but people on worldwide games can be complete jerks so... and while I still love Starcraft and Warcraft... staying up all night for a lan party with 20 some odd friends in the dorm computer lab when you have a final the next morning pretty much weaned me off of neverending games... :)
well I adore Role Playing of any kind, but prefer Second Edtion AD&D.
I also love RPGs for console games. Much to my dismay where I love there is not broad band so I was unable to get involved in the last final fantasy.
I know of all kinds of on line RPGs where its text based so if someone wants some information on that. I am happy to help you there.
Have a great day guys.. and Ladys..
This happens to be my first post in a forum here and I am relatively new. But I am a gamer girl at heart so hopefully. This is a popular thread.
Cheers.
