I'm looking for baseball fans to contact. It doesn't matter what team you like. Maybe you guys are turned off by the recent steroid scandals. It doesn't matter if its male or female. if interested, contact me anytime...
I must be the only Braves fan here. OK I know they ain't gonna make it 15 in a row, but being a fan means you are there thru the good times and the bad. Being from Mississippi I was happy to see the AA team come here, we get all the big name guys through here when they need to rehab. Chipper was in town a few weeks ago. Any ladies from MS wanna see a game together?
I am new to the forums, I know this is a stale thread but figured I might revive it given it is now mid season. Anyone catch the All-star game last night? Nice come back by the AL team.
As far as the Steroids scandal goes, the media can say all they want. The only teams that are suffering attendance losses or standstills are the same teams that have been for years. Overall, as a league MLB is still breaking it's own attendance records every year, so SOMEONE is buying tickets and buying merchandise
I love baseball!! My team is the Astros and yes last year rocked!!! I have a weird obession with minor league teams, I love going to my minor league team to watch a game..I try and go as much as possible during the summer..
My cat is named Bagwell...
Yah i'm a Toronto Blue Jay fan. Love the fact that the picked up there ability to win games this year. Well as for Toronto they are young and that means they will be improving each season as they get older. Maybe in a few years....but they could win the series LOL....Crosses Fingers!
Definitly a Toronto Blue Jays Fan. Although its been a while since we've last won, its always great to support your home team. I've personally been playin baseball for the past 12 years so its basically in my blood. The best part is being able to teach the little kids becuase its at that stage where they enjoy it the most!
I love going to the Oakland A's and Modesto Nuts games, but nothing beats watching my 5 year old godchild play T-Ball! A couple weeks ago she was on the ground making mud pies while the ball rolled by! I have a mint poster of Mark McGwire from the 80's on a hill swinging the bat with the Golden Gate bridge behind him.
I really enjoy going to the games. My dad lives right down the street from the Ranger's stadium in Arlington, Texas...okay, the Rangers are NOT the best but...still! Here in Tulsa we have thier farm team, The Drillers. They do alot better than the Rangers and are fun to watch.Usually a group of us will go together and cheer them on.
I am a big San Diego Padres fan. Season ticket holder for 5 years now. I go to at least 40 games a year. Steroids, not my business. Anybody who has never, EVER cheated at their jobs, i.e. calling in ill when not, taking supplies, long lunches, etc., can say what they want. I remember running into Mark MacGwire in a bar, and he wasn't as big as I thought he should be. This is the best time of year and the best sports time as far as I'm concerned. See ya in the World Series.
Oh you just keep getting better and better Marvel! ;-)
I am a huge baseball fan. I'm a direhard Cubs fan or course...being the Chicago gal that I am!
Last night, I went to the A's Home Opener (they got crushed btw by Toronto). I tailgated with some friends after work - had a fun time!
Ahh, the steriods scandal - it just keeps getting deeper and deeper doesn't it?! I recongnize that stars like Sammy Sosa, Mark McGuire and Barry Bonds helped revitalize baseball after the strike - MLB really took a hit after that and nobody was watching and ballparks were empty. So players like those gave us a reason to watch again - and more importantly, a reason to CARE again about the sport. I believe that this is why club owners and managers turned a blind eye to it.
But now - well, times they are a-changin'. Individual players are stand alone stars and the game has become much more competitive for both teams and players. And when the competition gets hot, the whole fire gets hot and accusations start flying. So away we go...
