i wish people could view age as just a number-i would be a lot happier-

many older women, because i am 22, without even getting to know me, will write me off simply because of the year i was born. And sadly, with women my own age, some of them have been hurt and enjoy older men cause they feel since i am the same age as past bf's who may have hurt them, i may be just like them.

i guess, as much as i dont want to admit it, i too in my own way get weary of a persons age as typically most women my age want a fling, r obsessive about work where their social life is non existant, or they want the classic "bad boy" ,which kind of leaves me, who is more along the lines of what a woman wants as a husband when they r ready to find their soulmate as opposed to what a typical 20 something year old wants as a boyfriend (there is a difference)-this in turn, when i begin speaking to a woman my age, has me VERY weary and i suppose indirectly has me disliking them cause of their age for i figure they will end up the same way rejecting me

so yea, age is a problem, and when it is used against somebody, it can end up having them using age in the same way, being resentful of the age group who uses it against them (or in this case me).

OMG! OMG! You young puppies are bringing me to tears! I seem to be the oldest one here by far. Listen to the "OLD MATRIARCH!" We seniors still have it "going on" (as my granddaughter calls it) and really enjoy the dating scene. We have learned a lot in our years and know what we want in a relationship. As for age, I was seeing a guy who was 49 yrs old and I was a year younger than his exwife. I have date all ages and my late husband was 11 yrs older than me. It is a mental thing as well as physical. I just promised my sons that I wouldn't date anyone younger than them.

I find that most of the older women know what they want right from the start. I have yet to date someone with in 5 years of my age.

You have agood point about proper training from the get-go instead of re-training!
  • View author's info Posted on May 06, 2005 at 12:06 AM

my problem is, i have never "been" with anyone before. and to me, its always easier to learn from experience, so when you want to be with an older woman its almost like correct training instead of training and then retraining ;)

There was mention that maybe young guys are starting to look more at the bigger lady. But if you look at the videos on tv, most of them are not BIG. They just have larger hindquarters. Baby Got Back. It used to be the heavy metal groups were accused of showing all the young, skinny $lut types, but if you look at just about any rap vid, all the women do is shake their money maker, while the guys stare, drool, grope, and have to have the words bleeped out because you know they aren't saying how much they want to go have a cup of coffee and get to know they're personality. I wouldn't be surprised if some of these guys just want to get a average sized gal with lots of junk in the trunk. I'm not sayin all of them, but I don't see women going on The Swan or the plastiv surgery show on E getting reverse liposuction!!

Hi Jason! Nice to meet you! How are you doing?

As for your question Trev, I'm not much older than you are, so I can't say for sure. I imagine that you are really an exception to the norm, being that you are a younger man who is excited about dating an older women, instead of being intimidated by the idea. It would make sense to me, that older women are not looking for the things some young men are looking for. So, in your case, you'd probably have to spend some time digging yourself out of the "Young Man/Player" stereotype and assure them that you are the opposite of all of that. And good luck to you! I think it's great!

Welcome, again, to both of you! Always good to see new faces!

yea to me age dosn't matter.. actually i would perfer an older woman.. 30 to 47ish.. theres just a sexyness about older women.. dont get me wrong i enjoy women from 18 to 29 also!

now what i want to know, is do older women like younger men? on alot of those shows on TV you see older moms falling for the young guys, but it seems that on every dating site that i am on, (yes more than 2 lol) none of the older ladies want a man that is 10 years or 5 years younger than they are.

do the older women just try and cover up that they do not want younger men? i would sure hope they do not feel embarassed about it at all!

You are so right...as always. Age is just a number. I feel that people should stop worrying about age and get on with living, for life is too short to worry about Mathematics, (boring subject anyway...... never understood Pye except when it had whipped cream on it !!)
Be who you want to be and enjoy all life has to offer. Don't regret not doing something because of other people's expectations of you and your age.
Don't I just woffle soooo much?!....hehehe. (JMO as always!)
    Best Wishes Shula x

Shuie>>>> good for you. ppl have a perception of what they think they are looking for in a person when it comes to a certain age range. i for one have learned not to limit myself on that area. you may miss out on that one person that makes you feel like a million bucks. i think ppl need to open their eyes a little more and see who is out here for them nomatter what their age. to me age is just a number.

I think the whole peer pressure and maturity factor can come into play on the ladies' side too. My friends really know how to rip a guy apart so badly that no matter how much you like the guy or even just want to give him a chance, you feel confused and chained by their thoughts. And it doesnt matter how big you are. My roommates and I range all sizes, and they equally pick on each others past boyfriends and guys we know through work or college. Its actually really frustrating.

As for age range personally, I don't really have one. There are some 40 year old men seem no older than 25, and some 18 year old men who seem to be 40. It has to be a case by case basis dependent only on your feelings for the person. Though I do know that my parents wouldnt like the idea of me dating someone in their late 30's or on, they would learn to accept it. My parents are older than my peer's parents and they got married and had kids at an older age, so I think they would understand why a man that age would still be on the dating scene. Plus I have always been mature for my age and my parents have told me so a million times.
