I really love scary movies but can't seem to find any friends that like to watch them with me. I don't like a lot of gore, just suspense...like Halloween, Friday the 13th, Salem's Lot, The Shining, etc. I also love the Evil Dead Movies and love zombie movies. Night of the Living Dead, Return of the Living Dead, etc. Anyone else out there?
I like any movie that can scare me. Be it zombies, supernatural, horror-sci-fi, even comedy horror or slasher.
A lot of the best scary movies are ones that deal in the psychological and make you think 'oh snap! this could actually happen!'
I saw the Human Centipede and it was distrubing. My friend almost heaved. I'm watching Cemetary Man right now.
I like the supernatural horror movies (vampires, witches, werewolves, zombies). Not such a big fan of slasher/ general gore movies. A+ for horror movies that can make fun of themselves. Saves me the effort of doing it. I have a tendency to laugh at the parts that would probably be considered the most serious, even if I'm being creeped out and enjoying the movie. Some of the effects, acting, and/or dialogue are just ridiculous.
Oh, yeah, I am one big horror movie buff! It's not really for the gore(although I won't turn my eyes away), but for the suspense that builds up before it actually happens. My sister has always said that I can watch a movie filled with gore, but put a bug in front of me, and I freak out! Go figure.
I am a scary movie freak, ever since i was a kid my sister, brother and myself have watched every scary movie in the book, and we analyze them,up to this day we are the same way and so are our children, every halloween we watch the same thing, Halloweens friday the 13ths ,psycho the black and white version, texas chainsaw massacre, new and old, sleepaway camp, the exorsist, and the list goes on....we love scary movies in my house
My friends all think that I'm crazy because I am a horror movie wimp. I watch them and love them, but I won't sleep for days. The movies with scenarios that could really happen, like wrong turn, etc. don't bother me at all. The supernatural movies with the devil, or ghosts scare the poop out of me. I saw the Ring and didn't sleep until my 7 days were up
It is very nice to know I am not insane to watch horror movies, I have no friends that enjoy the kinds of movies I do. I hate musicals (ick) won't watch chick flicks (it pisses me off to cry). I have enjoyed horror movies since I was a kid sneaking peaks around the corner (when I wasn't supposed to be watching). I hate the gory stuff but love the supernatural movies, and the sci fi ones weird ones like sphere and event horizon.
i don't like scary movies. they are too graphic! when i was younger (back in the stone-age) my sisters and i went to see the movie "dawn of the dead". now remember this was in the early 70's, when i saw these scary horrible looking zombies biting and eatting people it scared the holy heck out of me. i never thought things like that could ever happen or that anyone was so demented could make a film like that. i got my posterior up and tried to get my money back, but no cigar. i just waited outside until it was over. i also foolishly went to see the exorcist because it was such a "good" movie, i sat there scared out of my gourd. i had nightmares for weeks. nope, the kid hasn't seen not one Friday the 13th's, nightmare on elm street, texas chainsaws massacres, Chucky, not ever and will never. what i don't agree is when parents let their kids, some under 10 look at these type of movies. it can't be good, just my opinion.
Love scarey movies...in high school I was very into the Freddy Krueger movies...they scared me so much I couldn't sleep at night...also love Scream (the 1st one) and the Saw movies.
Love, love, love scary movies. I just watched 'Black Christmas' but I found it more campy than scary. I like to be scared out of my skin. I enjoy the Texas Chainsaw movies. One movie from my childhood that scares me just thinking about it is 'The Night of the Scarecrow'. I am sure it I watched it now it wouldn't be near as good. The last scary movie that I saw that I couldn't shake was the 'Blair Witch Project'. I was scared to be out at night after that!
I love scary movies!!! I don't like the ones that are bloody just to be bloody like hostel but I do enjoy frightening movies. Has anyone ever seen "The Changeling"? I saw that as a teenager and just thinking about it gives me the creeps and makes me jump at the slightest sound. :) Weird that I like that feeling. I watched Wolf Creek and the Hills have Eyes in the same weekend. I think I like paranormal scary more than just horrible and twisted people scary.
