What's the last good movie you guys/gals have seen?

Could be theater or just a rental or whatever.

Last really good movies that I saw were Walk the Line and Jarhead.

"Red Riding Hood". It was rather a cross between Sleepy Hollow and The Scarlet Letter and even Twilight. Gorgeous attention to detail in set dressing and costuming. The soundtrack was rich and sensual and the Pagan elements were totally hot. Of course I knew it was the re-telling of the children's nursery rhyme, but the nice surprise was mixing in classic werewolf stories and lore, and historical witch hunt details. This movie would have been fun to see with a date instead of a friend and her baby. Go see it!

I am new here (just joined today) saw this topic and thought I would chime in.

I saw The proposal with Sandra Bullock last week and I loved it. I don't usually go for romantic comedies but it was real good. Betty White was in it and she really made the movie something special. Yes the movie was kind of predictable and some of the situations were a bit unbelievable but it was so funny I didn't care.

The last movie I saw and really enjoyed was Little Miss Sunshine. It was bizarre but really funny. I kind of like the off kilter not quite mainstream movies. I also love big blockbusters....just lately so short on both time and money they are less likely to get my rental dollars. Though I do have to admit I bought a copy of Dead Man's Chest eventhough I found the movie heavy on action sequences and short on plot. You know for the kids ;)

This is cheesy but my all-time favorite movie is 'Lady and the Tramp'. I hadn't seen it in years and during Christmas I bought the DVD and remembered why I love it so much. Great movies lately: The Guardian(even though it copies Top Gun too much, Blood Diamond and Rocky Balboa.

My honey rented "Superman Returns". I didn't think that I would like it, but it was better than I expected it would be. But then again, how could one expect any Superman and Lois Lane to be as great as Christopher Reeves and Margot Kidder? True classics.

Re:

Love and respect to the Superman :)
Hope his next movie has a classic comic book villian :)
Hoping for Brainiac :)

I rented "Little Miss Sunshine" over the holiday break. I loved it so much that I saw it three times. I also enjoyed "Friends With Money".

I am not a WWII movie fan, but my honey dragged me to see "Flags of Our Fathers". It was excellent. I want to see it again.

We also rented "Hoodwinked" and "Ice Age II". Laughed my arse off!!

I tried like heck to like "The Lake House", but it just did not do it for me. I felt like I wasted a good portion of my day on that one.

Well, the last movie I rented was The Break Up. I turned it off after it "Dawned" on him what she was to him.. at the bar.. if ya'll saw it you know what I mean. I was in tears for most of the movie, even when I was laughing and just didn't have the heart to finish it. lol It was a good movie, though.. what I saw of it.

I rented Click a couple of weekends ago. I never thought an Adam Sandler movie would make me cry, but it did. I loved that movie.

Cars, now that is a very, very cute animated movie. That was the last movie I saw in a theater, and it was too cute to be released from the box office.

Favorite movie

EVERYONE NEEDS TO RENT:
PHAT GIRLS with Mo'Nique. I hope I spelled that right. It's urban and not suitable for small children, but it's a fantastic story about BBW's vs Society and Love. Even my skinny girlfriends loved it.

I liked the Lake House actually, as long as you didn't think too hard about it.

I saw Monster House this weekend and thought it would have been funnier and watching The Break Up was like watching my divorce all over again.. but where the stars were better looking lol!
