... and here's my remedy to the situation.... Usually, I think in the back of my mind, I could buy and sell you ..stare all you want to as I laugh my azz off. Remember, that folks that have to put others down by their comments or even their "looks" is really insecure with themselves.

Chin up, kiddo .. not everyone in the world is so insecure! Look at all of us!!!!!

Keep on truckin'

Just adopt my strategy. If somone looks at you weird of makes some crude comment, just grabahold of them and ask what is the problem. You'd be very surprised at the way their tone changes.

Another vote here for the newer pic. I think you look very attractive in it.

Kwtrucker, sweetie... you are what you are... be happy and just be yourself! You are a very good looking man and if a woman doesn't like your size, well, she wasn't the one for you anyway. I see absolutely nothing wrong with you or your looks. Have a wonderful day!

KW, I just wanted to add my 2 cents. I really like the newer pic also. You look very handsome and you can really see what you look like. The goatee is hot by the way. Hang in there.

I'd use the newer one.

It's clearer, one can see more of your face. On your existing one you're lurking in the shadows behind glasses.

Nope... I think that pic is better! YOu look more mature and I think the facial hair is a great addition! But that's just my opinion... if the opinion of an older woman is worth anything. lol

I wish I were as confident as some of you and just ignored the looks and the comments, but I'm like trucker... it just hurts and I get so sick of it. Why can't people just be kind to each other... why do they always have to have some sarcastic remark to make at people that they don't even know.

And yes, some of us do it to each other... how can we expect less from people who don't even understand the battle???

I swear aphrodite, anyone who gives you "the look" that a lot of us full and well know .... they have got to be CRAZY ... I wish I was as "big" as you .... they must all be coming fresh from the anorexia farm !! lol

But yes that "look" the one you can get no matter where you go .... its annoying as all hell, so I just poke my tongue out mostly when I get it, and I even got it from a drunkard dero who was happily tucking into his Beer at 8am one morning while I was on my way to work ... who incidently copped a few choice words from me, Its unfortunately something that we cant get away from... and there has been some good advice in these posts, but the bottom line is, these people dont matter to you in your life, its their problem not yours.... just grin and poke your tongue out next time it happens trucker

Oh I agree that "the look" exists, as does people laughing at you in the street. I've experienced it loads of times. But I also know that a lot of it is imagined because most people rightly don't give a dawn about how fat we are.

But because we're used to the idea of people being disgusted we have a tendency to see it where it's not present.

Well, Theo, while some of the looks may be imagined, they do exist. It's hard to mistake "the look" for anything else when it is accompanied by someone moo'ing at me or calling me shamu.

For myself, it's led to an interesting dichotomy. I fully believe I am cute as all heck. And I act like I believe it when I am in my comfort zone (familiar places, with people that I know).

Step out of that comfort zone, and the look can not only reduce me to tears...fear of getting the look and the comments makes me an absolute wallflower.

Hang in there kwtrucker (man I hope I spelled that right...being able to read the posts while replying would be so sweet).
