I love Valentine's Day as it is also my daughter's birthday..... so...... if there is someone special in my life.. we can share our own special moments but I will also have special moments to spend with my daughter as well. I took her to lunch and later everyone got together for birthday cake at her house so it was very nice.....one of my favorite holidays. Smiles, me
Well, It's not very romantic but, full of love and warmth...I'll be spending the day/evening with my 9 yr. old grandson, Darrius. I'm raising him. I've had him since birth. So, the love that's in the air for me is the best love of all...from a child!!!!
Well I have been thinking on this subject.. What to get a male friend for vallentines day?? It's some what easer to buy for girls then guys I think.. So I think I have finally figured out.. What I'm going to do for my guy friend for vallentines day.. Pizza deliveary LoL yep He loves it sounds strange I know.. But it fits him perfectly LoL..
Hmm I don't seam to know what Diamonte earrings is something like diamonds maybe? Well any ways yea I know some times guys try to hard.. I once had a fiancee send away to California for roses.. Because I like colored ones and particularly purple ones.. Well they came Valentines day and mine were half purple and half brown lol.. The plain red ones he got my mom were great tho I was a bit jealous lol
I would be dead chuffed by a single red rose. just a very simple but caring thought of " well, its an excuse but you know i care." and its nothing i have to hold onto or take care of. I've never been and I'm not with anyone on valentines day but even an anonymous one would be cute ;) I dont care for the day one way or the other. i dont hate it, i dont love it. it kind of just passes - like arbor day.
Never really had a memorable valentines day ... never had flowers sent to me ... never had cards arrive in the mail ... never really been taken out ... its a gimmic really, You dont need the ONE day to confess your love to someone ... its a "cute" day, but just a money spinner ... I am sure all the florists around the world HANG for that ONE day ... oh and mothers day as well ...
Oh hang on ... I DO remember one time an Ex of mine ( one of the worst relationships I ever had) had been with me for a while... and knew my taste (so i thought) ... but while I was on the toilet...he hands me my prezzie of diamonte earrings ... this goes along the lines of what Theo was saying that there will be some sort of stuff up ... BUT I did thank him politely ... but then I said ... look around you (he was in my room) do I look like a diamontes kinda gal ....??
Now as nasty as that may sound ... I am sorry but I take the time to get to know my mate ... and get to know what he is about, it would be like me going out with someone who doesnt swim and buying him a surf board ... just doesnt gel !! lol
I never seem to be dating someone on Valentine's day. Ever. So I don't get the fun stuff.
Word of advice to guys: Unless the girl is allergic, you can't go wrong with flowers. With chocolates, she might be on a diet. With balloons, she might have cats that will destroy things getting to them. With stuffed animals, she has to find a place to store the darn thing.
Go with flowers. They're beautiful. They smell good. They can be thrown away in two weeks.
Valentine's Day is a lose/lose situation for any guy.
If you do it properly it's what's expected.
If you do it too well then there's the guilt of not being that romantic all year round.
If you mess it up then you're selfish.
If you try to opt out then you're utterly heartless.
There's no way you're walking away from this with anything good. It's just pressure, pressure, pressure and if you screw it up it's a big huge issue.
This is without even mentionning the endless advertising that makes shops look like a drag queen just exploded and the fact that, like Xmas, you simply can't get away from it.
On this one I'm with the Satanic Bible. It says that you should only ever celebrate your own birthday because all things taken into account, it's the only day that really matters.
