People I LOOOOOVVEE this time of year! The stores are selling EGGNOG again and fattening as it is..it's oooohhsssooooggggoooooood! Especially with rum! Making puffed eggnog pancakes for me and my girl tomorrow! Hope they come out alright.

Can anyone tell me what they like to do to get in the mood for the holidays?

I sell soy candles and make votive roses and stuff to sell at Arts and Crafts Fairs during the mad rush after Thanksgiving.

Ahhh those roses are nice..... very pretty...... I love anything artsy and crafty..... gotta come up with something fun for the school kids I work with to make...... anyone have suggestions....... not too expensive and easy..... grades 1 - 6....... thanks ........ smiles, me

I have triple scented soy candles in: Christmas Tree, Christmas Spice, Snickerdoodle, and Cinnamon Raisin Bun! My place is going to smell like "HOME".

I am also making Votive Roses to sell during the Christmas Arts and Crafts Fairs around this area.

mmm, To get in the mood for the holidays, lets see...

-- Place false antlers on all the dogs... and rabbit too, just for the h e l l of it.

-- Smoke a beef tongue for office xmass grab bag.

- Bought my nephew a 200 watt vetta, just because my brother can never have too much music in his life.

- Stock the bar... and fridge, I entertain... totally.

- explain to the police that noise ordanices do no apply during the holiday season.

- Pay fines cuz we live in a police state and can play after 10pm... but who cares, F the A holes, we can pay to play.

Well..actually..it's fall! But hey, I figure since we get BOMBARDED with Christmas stuff (ads, decorations out already) I figure what the heck. I love this time of year leading up to Winter cause I loooove to bake during the cold months!

I love eggnog also..and with rum.. yummy!! The last few years I have been having a lot of trouble getting into the holidays...spring holidays have always been my favortite.. maybe thats why.
Now with my kids all grown its harder to get into the spirit.. but I usually make a nice dinner to give to a needy family and we bake christmas cookies and decorate the house.
I always taught my kids that the holidays were about love, family and having fun..not just what you could get for Christmas...so we poured a lot into decorating, music and just having fun with holiday baking and loads of laughter.

Hope your eggnog pancakes turn out good... I might like the receipe for that..always looking to try something new.
