Personally I don't mess too much with people like that. If they don't end up having anything more to say than that, then I would tell him to either spit it out or leave me alone. That's me though. Maybe I'm not so tolerant.

I agree.......pictures are important... I do and have responded to many without pics but always ask for one... I did meet a guy without a pic.....he is an older gentleman and not too computer savvy ...... does not have a digital camera so no pic and he is very nice but I do agree fair is fair.... if u get to see my pic then I should be able to see yours too. I have been writing to one guy on here and he keeps promising to send a pic but hasn't yet so I don't know....... he is in CA now but will be coming back East soon so I will see what happens........

and I will add a little vent myself just in case one certain guy mite read this ......... he is on just about every bbw site...... just as I am and he has winked at me from each and every site and when I respond he doesn't... so when I tell him I am confused as to what he wants ..... he writes and tells me he is interested and nothing more... so when I give up then he starts winking again....... hmmmmm does this make sense to anyone????????? He seems so nice in alllllllll his profiles.... and I know I should just ignore him but..........

I do have to say this though. As beautiful as Brazil is geographically, the thing that will always stick out in my mind are the people. I was there as an exchange student, and everyone was so warm and friendly and caring. Which to scared teenager, that far away from home is a huge deal. I know my experience was probably a bit different than most, because I lived and went to school there, rather than just seeing it as a tourist, but you have every right to be proud of your country and it's people.

I definately understand where you are coming from fifonfif. And no I don't think it's shallow at all. As many have pointed out..when you meet someone on the street you get to see all of them. Physical attraction (and everyone can deny it to their hearts content but I dont buy it for one second) is a big part of chemistry in a relationship. I am supplying a picture in my profile, I ask that you at least have one in yours...fair is fair. How do I know (NOT being high on myself) but how do I know the ONLY reason someone is winking me or emailing me is because they saw my picture and it got their attention? Well..fair is fair..lemme judge too.

I think you have a valid point. This is a DATING site after all. Looks matter, but we're not all looking at the same things; in all fairness I think anyone who initiates contact with someone on a dating site should have a picture posted or at least have one that can be emailed. Besides, I'd want someone to know what I looked like right off the bat...folks can be cruel and I'd rather not deal with that kind of B/S...and the B/Sers most definitely would NOT want to deal with me. LOL

i think its natural to want a face. in public, we arent all running around behind masks or paper bags - you see everyone youre talking to. it just feels weird to not have that when talking to someone even if it is online. its too many unknowns at that point (personality, humour, voice AND looks -all missing? not a chance.)

I feel the same way - looks or no, id rather have a face than some anonymous black hole. Also, half the time the profiles *arent* interesting so you have even less to work with.

There's any number of reasons why someone wouldn't want to post a picture of themselves... some reasonable, others less so. I'm sure you're clever enough to think up a few.

I find it interesting though that you can't even expend the minimal effort of winking or sending an email on the basis of personality. If they turn out to be ugly you can then stop talking to them but it's pretty sad that you won't countenance talking to someone without a picture to the point where you feel the need to vent.

yeah.well part of a relationship or a flourishing one that is...is physical attraction. It goes both ways.

It's really frustrating...why not be up front and if you don't like what you see..then you move on..simple as that.

Maybe they're hoping you'll judge them on the basis of who they are rather than what they look like.
