Hello All I'm Elfkeeper, a hopeless romantic. I love a good date and just what is a good date you might ask? For me, its good food, good conversation and great music. I find that a ride or walk on a star filled night is so much better with great mood music. With that in mind I give you Kem. By now we all know about him but if you dont know, great ready for a treat. KEM: Album 2 is by far one of the best date CDs this year(the brother put it down). If you like Kem, you mihgt want to check out All Jarreau (any of his CDs will do). Also, Lalah Hathaway doing "Forever, For Always, For Love" is outstanding. Now, I know we are not happy with the French, but there is a CD Called "French Kiss" that is just too sexy, smart and uptown to pass up (if you can find it. So give any of them a listen and then listen again with your date. Im sure you will be happy you did.
Some of my favorite music for romance...
Al Green - Let's Stay Together.
Depeche Mode - Stripped, Blue Dress
Duran Duran - The Chauffer
Roxy Music - Avalon, Slave to Love
Siouxsie and the Bansees - face to face
9 1/2 Weeks soundtrack - whole thing is good.
Dee738 write: Leonard Cohen, "waiting for the Miracle"
His voice gives me chills.
Ooooooh me too Dee.
One of his songs...something about saying goodbye...
I loved you in the morning, your kisses deep & warm
Your hair upon the pillow like a sleepy golden storm
Few of my faves are..
Love is all arounds, by The Troggs
Will you still love me tomorrow, cant remember who did it though!
Anything mellow by Elvis is enough to send me a bit ga ga too!
Marc Anthony songs, You Sang to Me, especially. Also old love songs from when we were both in our twenties - Motown stuff still gets me going - anything by Smokey Robinson or the Temptations or, yup, Marvin Gaye. And Luther Vandross will live forever in his love songs.
What about Unchained Melody by the Rightous Brothers.
or for a chane of pace. Feel Like Making Love by Bad Company. Of course you can't go wrong with Marvin Gaye
OK guys, for me some good smooth jazz such as Dave Koz or David Benoit make for great date music. I find that some of the others that you have mentioned seem to be more of the "get in the mood" music.
