WHAT THE HECK IS A BBW ANYWAY?

OK,I'll step out on a limb here and say that MOST people understand that the term BBW is *RELATIVE*, but there still seems to remain controversy (especially among men) as to what a BBW really looks like.
So what is a BBW? 10 pounds overweight? 50 pounds?

What is funny to me is when I hear thinner women/men making assumptions about big girls.

Many assume that if a man is interested in a BBW or "bigger/ curvy/fat/chunky/zaftig woman, that the woman can rest assured that he TRULY is interested in her for HER unique qualities as a human being and not due to her outward appearance.

Not true I say!

I think:

Some men believe that BBW's are "easy prey"
Some have a "fat" fetish....
Some find that women of size tend to be more "down to earth" , less likely to stray, more likely to appreciate their man. Or when all else fails, their grey hair is startin' to sprout, their swimmers are slowin down, they get involved with a BBW as a last resort.

Some actually enjoy the warmth and suppleness of a rubenesque woman!?
What I've found is that men whose tastes lean towards bigger gals are very SPECIFIC ie. what they want their woman to look like... pear shaped, hourglass....etc
Many men seem to want the "ideal" bbw as well...a bigger girl who is perfectly proportioned, small waist ample hips large bust,..no cellulite, no lumps and bumps, no stretch marks.OH yeeeeah honey,..what parallel universe are you living in?...Even those BBW models that appear perfectly symmetrical and in proportion are airbrushed..c'mon...if they do it to the skinny models, they're definitely gonna do it to the big girls!.If you like a bigger girl, you have to be realistic about what her body is gonna look like under those clothes!

So, what IS a BBW,..... can we even pigeon hole the term re: physical attributes?....I'd love to know what you think...and/or see some pics of what YOU think a typical BBW looks like (if there is one)....
Cheers! (And good luck everyone)...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, what is big and beuatiful for one will not necessarily be for someone else. Any woman can be a BBW even if they were a size 12 depends on different tastes and desires.

Take pride in your looks, health and hygiene no matter what size you are and you will someone will always find you attractive. Hang around smelling of chip fat and greasy stained clothes, no one will look at you twice.

What you're saying falls right in with what I've been thinking. I mean it's scary to meet a guy even from here because what if he wanted a smaller big woman? Then I go into if he *does* like me as I am now....what if I loose weight? I mean a diet is bound to work someday. I'll never be 125 lbs but I felt better when I was smaller and since diabetes runs in my family I need to loose. Basically I want a guy who likes me because I'm me. At least here they give me the time of day. At eharmony after months and months I think three guys would even start to talk to be before falling off the face of the earth. So no matter what they are really into I suppose I'll give them a break because they give me a chance.

I think "BBW" is a state of mind, really. I've read Mo'Nique's (the comedienne) "Skinny Women are Evil" and she talks about "cool skinny women" who are honorary BBW because they're not pretentious and weight-obsessed.
What you said about men is true. I am constantly being hit on by (MUCH) older men, both here, on "mainstream" personals sites, and in real life. I've also been propositioned for "just sex" more times than I care to count. (All of which I politely but firmly declined!) It's really quite depressing. I know there are men out there who appreciate us for us, I just don't seem to have ever met any of them.

Being on the other side of the coin this is a hard discussion. At least you have people interested in you, no matter if it's a good reason or not. Being a big guy, it's hard to approach any woman. You keep thinking about how much is the person going to laugh at you, and what about the friends around them, that's always a joy. It's just nice to feel wanted sometimes. It would be even nicer if a woman who was interested in a big guy actually just came up and said hello.......... like that ever happens.

It's funny, it seems that you always see the thin guys with women of all sizes, but no one ever thinks about the men.

I know everyone has a horror story, but this is just my opinion.

most ppl couldnt tell what a bbw is, they dont know themselves. according to pop culture, anything over 125lbs is fat anyways.
