ok i know that must be a generalisation but there seems to be more acceptance to curves in the US than anywhere else does any one know or have experience of what i am saying? or am i just a mad english girl going insane?

isajck, the clothes issue was one of the reasons i started this sight i remember going to the USA and actually being able to buy clothes in the same shops as my friends! which tho the uk is getting better, is normally not possible! if u are a size 18-24(uk sizes) some shops will cater for u otherwise its evans or if u are bigger than a 28-30 u have to go to specialist shops, which i feel makes the uk women feel less accepted or that is my 2 cents worth!

a huge prayer going to every one effected by any type of disaster or loss recently, big hugs where they are needed and hope every one is ok!

I think that it is definitely more acceptable to be plus-sized in the USA, than any other part of the globe.

There is the exception of the larger cities, though.

I agree with cherry, NYC is a great place for larger women.

From my experience, it depends on where in the US you live. I have lived in the south and west coast and it wasn't until I moved to NYC that I discovered a larger circle of men to choose from. These men here seem to love a woman with curves and larger.

I think it is much easier in the states .... being from Australia and visiting the states twice, its much more widely accepted being a larger person in the states, but with the portions of food that are served up in restaurants its no wonder !!! Mum and I couldnt believe it when we went there .... we had a great holiday though .... and I felt like "twiggy" a lot of the time ... lol (for those too young to know who twiggy is, she was a sickly thin model in the 60's) and no disrespect meant there at all :)

And I agree Treasure, am watching it on the news now .... its gonna be a bad one in Texas , mother nature is MAJORLY p1ssed at the moment ... I hope everyone is going to be ok, including the restaurants for your sake treasure .. lol :)

I would state, based on my experience, that it is much easier to buy clothing for BBW in the United States (thankfully I still have a valid passport)

Having met, some, European males I experienced actually having one worship (I mean some serious worshiping, face in stomach, tenderly yet passionately kissing all of the "should be ashamed of coz they are BIG") all of me - it was a spirit wakening time for this woman.

As for those who would rather poke their eye out - all part of being insecure in their own being.

Also, for me, if I am feeling good about ME - then all the looks are of approval of a woman who is healthy, striding purposely in the world, with an aura of sensuality as opposed to one who might be moving about with an aura of "sorry for being here folks, I apologize for existing within your line of sight"

i didn't mean to offend people by my questions just when i went on holiday to the US i wore a skirt (something that rarely happens) as did my friend who is a size twig and i got more attention than she did in a good way over here it would be sniggers and slanging matches over in the US they were all really accepting which was why i actually felt human for the whole time i was over there i wasn't afrid to eat in public because i was wondering what people were thinking i actually took my coat off outside which is a no-no over here even on the rare occasion that it is hot. i actually felt like a woman and it was bizare because from that experience on i just know i will be ok even if i have to move to the US! sorry went on a bit!!!! lisa x

I can't imagine it being 'easy' anywhere. I have NEVER been approached by a man... I have only met men from sites like this.

But since I've never lived somewhere else, I don't know if there are more prejudices there than here.

I will agree that it's probably easier to be bigger in the USA than in some other parts ... at least for women. I've heard from a many woman in the UK whom would pass for average sized in the USA, but are told they are too fat over in teh UK. I've told quite a few I don't know what the issue with guys over there is, over here they would be on the smaller size.

As far as what LokiRock said I don't know where you live, but in the southeastern parts of the USA big women seem to have no problem getting men ... usually smaller sized ones at that. Most big women I see are either married or taken ... usually by some stick figure guy ... hahahaha.

i lived in the US until i was 19, and lived in Glasgow Scotland for a little over two years now... and while ive been single most of that time (due to my own cynical distrust of people in general, im sure) i find i get a lot more attention here. That, and ive seen many girls and women who are larger than i am happily dating around... something i almost never saw back home.
