You know me...Nosey!! I know most of your jobs, so now I wanna know what are you cooking for Dinner/Supper tonight?
I am cooking a nice steak, with shallots and mushrooms, in a red wine sauce...not much wine went in the sauce, it somehow kept leaping into my glass!
SO.....Whats cooking in your house tonight???

bubs write:
OH DEAR!!....I had a lovely gentleman as a patient, and whenever I visit, there are most yummy smells coming from the kitchen...today it was a curry type smell, and I had to ask his wife what she was cooking, n she said it was a spicey cottage pie, the recipe she had got from a neighbour, and would I like it...Yes please, says me....and then trot off to Tescos....get all the ingredients..( cost a ruddy fortune)! Came home, all enthusiastic, chopped n diced n boiled, n marinated....stuck this wonderous creation in the oven, and went fer a bath....Smelling gorgeous when i came back, so I settle down with a wine, and this steaming plate................OMG OMG OMG............SH*T....My mouth was on fire, my throat was thinking about suicide, and my teeth had run away with the steradent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ouch Bubs .... you're not confusing your tsp's with your tbsp's are you?

SSBBWGAL, it is very easy! I have a six quart crock pot or slow cooker (same thing) I cut up about half a head of cabbage, put some in the bottom, put in the corned beef with all the juices from the package and the seasonings that come with them and then put more cabbage on top. Then I put in enough water to just about cover the meat. It is best if you can cook it about 8 or so hours on low but it also works if you cook it about 4 hours on high. either way it comes out nice and tender and yummy!

Psst Bubs ... try the Pataks curry pastes ... I made a fab veggie madras with one of them.

I've been baking all day - a birthday tradition at work and I'll be aging later this week. (Taking a day off to get the wrinkles put in and a few more grey hairs painted on, lol) How come everyone else gets away with a cheap bag of doughnuts?!

Tonight I am having another go at curry.
It always tastes so good at a resturant, I just cant understand why I cant get it right at home, so I have a traditional Indian cookbook...and I will let ya all know if it turns out ok

I've had exactly the same problem with the red wine! Tonight bubs I've cooked a lasagne, homemade garlic bread and thrown together an Italian salad.

Enough to feed six if anyone would care to join me.
