I was just wondering how many people find dates here, leading to proper relationships.
Sometimes I think we just like to stay in the comfort zone and "online" chatting takes the place of the real thing. Tell me it's not true please!!!
Online dating can work, but it has to be online dating with a "real world focus." There is no such thing as "online" dating. The online part is truly only meant to be the way your originally meet someone whom you take things off-line with. When I try to meet people online I try and keep my wants realistic. So for me that means no trying to pursue women in WA, NV, CA, or anyplace else that's outside of a reasonable distance from where I live in Atlanta, GA unless one of us is already planning to make a move there in the very near future, i.e 1 year or less. It also means keeping realistic expectations and not coming online and trying to meet a "perfect" women or women who are so far from what I typically meet in real life.
I see far too often people trying to date people half a continent away or having extremely unrealistic expectation like they come online and some expect to meet someone who has the looks of a model, the bank account of a Wall Street Executive, a nice car, a nice house, willing to shower them with gifts, and all the stuff a cheesy Hollywood flick would incorporate. That's so not realistic, especially when a lot of these women I'm talking about are only in their 20's ... not a lot of guys in their age range have those things ... at least yet.
