I was wondering about starting a chat group somewhere? Can we do that? I'm not real up and my chatrooms, and such. Just wondering if anybody out there might know more.
I just received an email from GaPeach. seems she has fallen in love and will not be on largefriends anymore, nor will she be in the chat room. so if anyone is still interested in joining the chat, just send me an email and I will invite.

I am with LonelyPAWoman and Full_Of_Soul. Why does it seem like only one or two people don't want the rest of us there? I guess exclusion is the way some of you do things around here. If it's a lawsuit you're afraid of, what happens when administration finds out about your abuse of the site? Deterring interested parties and new customers from the site with your elitism certainly constitutes abuse. I would think that allowing everyone to chat is the lesser of two evils. Or perhaps I'm wrong, and the people doing the excluding are part of the administration?? Last time I checked, paying for service DID NOT include access to a private chat room. So, come on, let's be fair!
I can definately see both sides of the issue, (but seeing as how I'm a paying member and the admins can't even give me my old e-mail address back since it is under my old username which I can't remember) I perfer that we keep to only having paying members in the chat area. I have met a bunch of great people on here,(wish more were here in my neck of the woods!) Plus even if you don't pay you can still post and read what others post. It really is a great site, and I hope that all that have joined will stick around (we really are nice!) I feel this is getting like a competition and it's totally un-neccessary! Everyone is entitled to an opinion, u have yours and so we can have ours. Put the shoe on the other foot - i'm sure you would feel the same way.
If allowing non members restricted usage of this site was causing LF any kind of financial problems or anything simular then the service wouldn't be available would it!

Well this is all pathetic - i dont feel you are snobbish nor rude. But i do however have a problem in understanding why it was ok to talk about the chatroom and communicate with everyone about it via this site etc and that was no problem??

sued because you have a chat room? dont think so. because we may or may not all go to *said* chat room to talk once in awhile does not mean we would not still be on this site also. If LF wanted to keep more members here they would have a chat room for us already. dont you think? & even if we did leave this site there are many other dating sites out there, so how would any one but us know why we left here?
Ok, ok i can see your point! However why even conduct this thru the site?? Telling people to email or make contact then suddenly it's only for certain people. If it's all down to legal reasons then i can NOT understand why your messages containing the information were even allowed to be posted for public viewing?

GaPeach, Your doing the right thing. Dont let other make you feel as though you or I are being snobbish or rude. Those of us that pay for this service and have been fortunate enough to meet some wonderful people through here are greatful that the chatroom was started. And come on folks its not only lawsuits we're talking about. Its also the fact that some of us do pay.. those of you that arent paying members should consider yourselves lucky that largefriends lets you post here in the forum to send out your messages. Think what would happen if largefriends made you pay for this service. We arent asking for money ourselves, we are just asking that you keep your membership to this site as well. Gapeach, you go girl.. Those of us that understand are all behind you.
I agree with LonelyPAWoman and Full_Of_Soul, I'm not sure if this is the best way to get people to stay!? Perhaps the rest of us could start a chat room? All we would need is a wink from the people who want to come in. I'm no computer wiz, but I bet we could get it figured out! Let me know what you think! :)
I am not trying to be rude or snobbish. I am, however, trying to keep from any form of lawsuit being brought upon us. I am sorry for those of you who have been excited about this chatroom and group starting, but I cannot risk taking away members from this site. It's just a rule to keep us safe. I can offer you another place to meet, however, for free. There are rooms in oohay under romance, there are BBW specific rooms. I hope that helps. Again, I do apologize that I can't invite all of you, but for legal reasons it has to be paying members.

This is a real shame! I read so much about this chat room and now we can't join you guys to talk? I can appreciate that LF have done a great job and want to keep their customers but it was a shame to hear all the progress and now that's it! lol
Oh well, that's just down right rude & snobbish, I was a paying member it ran out. I lost my job & cant afford to pay it right now. I'm still obviously here on this site.
