I love classic rock and wouldn't mind finding someone who also loved music from bands like Led Zepplin, Styx, REO Speedwagon (my favorite!), Bad Company, Queen, etc.
I still am picking up cds of 70's 80's rockers, still cannot find any better music. I always had the radio going, even had a little transistor radio of my own when I was in my pre-teens! Was even cooler when music videos started up, some were kinda cheesy, but there were others that were awesome. Loved Thriller by Michael Jackson, was better than some of the movies of the day!
I was raised on classic rock. My two brothers and sister are between 10 and 17 years my senior so I was a very small child around teenagers so Music was always playing and all kinds of it too. Cause they all had different taste so I'm a mix of musical taste. I love music and have to have it in my life.
Definately getting into the groove of the classic rock and am rediscovering alot of it thru the radio station at my college and thru friends who are into it :)
I feel sorry for you. I know too the cruel sting of selling off guitars. Once I owned 25 total but now I only own 4. I too play bass as well as steel, rythem, lead and drums. I also played in a band called "Midnight Magic" for 2 years and it was a trip. We did a lot of classic rock from Eric Clapton to Lynrd Skynrd. I often go tto sing most of the songs and it was great. The one that I could have the most fun on was "The Breeze". I took a 3 min. song and made a 7 min. song out of it. I also likes REO Speedwagon too and often listened to them to get pumped up over and the main pump me up song was "Pinball Wizard". Other classic rock songs that I love are Flirtin' with Disaster, Wheels are turnin', Spirit in the Sky, and others like them. I enjoy mixing it up too, some fast and heavey and some slow hold me tight dance songs too.
OH Man Rhythm thats terrible .. I remember a time when I loaned my Les Paul Gibson to an Ex boyfriends mate ... and I was hanging washing on the line one day...and this OVERWHELMING fear came over me and I started to panic thinking about the Gibson .... and I told my then Boyfriend to call his friend cause I think somethings happened to the Gibson ...and sure enough... his friend had Hocked it !! for $100 stinking dollars ... thing is my brother has passed away so its priceless to me .... that A$$ still has the marshall Amp tho .... its gone ... I havent seen or heard from him for over 6 years ...it still pains me to think about that too
I've been playing bass for about 20 years, but doe to a freak accicent (I got married to an alcoholic idiot) all my basses are gone (he hocked them all after I left him). My favorite band is REO Speedwagon, but I love Zepplin, Beatles, and pretty much all classic rock.
