"Regular exercise -- ...-- is the most loving thing we can do for ourselves! " - Promises.

I think that is a great comment, Promises. I feel healthier and more energized when I get regular exercise whether I loose weight or not.

Regular exercise -- in any form, that you do at least 2 - 3 hours per week, that gets your heart rate up to at least 60 per cent of capacity -- is the most loving thing we can do for ourselves!

For me, walking is good enough, as long as I do it enough. I'm 40 years old and almost 500 pounds but still walk around a lot, a couple hours everyday. If I didn't do it, I'd probably be 700 pounds by now...

Congratulations to everybody that has been getting healthier...and Gordon, stick with it. Its a lifestyle change, not a quick fix. Remember, you didn't gain it all over-night, it took some time and will take some time to come off.

I have a multi-station machine in my garage that I try to use for about 1 hr. a day, 3 days a week. That and LA Weightloss has helped me lose 60 lbs. so far in about 4-5 mos. I have a long way to go, but the important thing is its going.

I'm doing a routine at home about 3 to 5 times a week with focus on my tummy and toosh. I've noticed it gives me extra energy and my clothes are starting to fit me better. I do have a big tooshie. I don't want to lose it just firm and tone it. Maybe a toosh like Buffie the Body or Trina would be cool. Wish I knew their fitness routines...

I have lost 100 pouds in the last 8 months by walking 4-5 times a week for an hour and swimming 3 times a week for an hour also. I made all my friends join with me so I never lack for company and if I know someone is waiting for me I can't flake. Chasing Patient bells up and down the hallways at work doesn't hurt either.

I run, lift, and do the eliptical.

If you don't have time to do the eliptical and weights, do the weight training, it is better for you in the long run.

Also, I have a stationary bike at home, and I play playstation when I'm on it. It is amazing how much longer I can go when I zone out playing a game.

I joined a gym about two weeks ago. Eliptical Trainer. It's awesome. YOU WANNA FEEL THE BURN? I'm also weight training and can leg press 300lbs. I gotta work on the arms more though. I'm attending Cardio Kick, which is more dance aerobics on Thursday mornings, I have Pilates on Tuesday nights to help keep me limber and Monday and Friday Nights I am kick boxing. WOO! I have a full schedule. And after just two weeks. I'm noticing the difference!!! Woo hoo!

I started at curves. Its a good place to go for a beginner, and full of large women. Now I am at the gym doing biking and rowing machine. I am still recovering from a broken foot, so I have to excercise without weight baring. The gym is fun, cause there are boys there.

ha ha. i really hate working out, but to stay in shape i like to do fun things. i play ball with my friends when schedules (and weather) permit, or when i am all alone, i like to swim (easy on the joints and fun too!) and ride my bike. riding the bike though i don't even think of as excersize... it's more like sightseeing while wearing goofy looking gear. i'm a believer in making things fun, so i try to do that with health too.

    Gordon,
Congrats on your continued weightloss! Keep it up, hun, and you'll meet your goal weight for sure.

As for myself, I've just started working out again. I fell off of a horse and recracked the same spot on my hipbone, so taking it easy. I do my first workout in the morning, on the elliptical for 30minutes-1hour at a pretty good pace. I like using the program that changes it up so that I'm not focused on the time.

Afterwards I go sit in the sauna at the gym for 15-30 minutes, which relaxes my muscles after the workout.

I spend my days working at a horse barn. I train horses, lift bales of hay, ride (you can get amazing legs this way!), and jog kids around on ponies.

At night I hop back on the elliptical at the gym, which is usually around 9-10pm at night. I stay on there for another half hour to hour, doing the pace changing excersize. If you make sure to use your arms and really get into the workout, then your abs, backside, and arms will tone naturally. I also do pushups and situps at night.

Pilates is my favorite, though, since I can still semi stretch at my young age. It also does a lot for your core, strengthening it rather quickly. That's the best way to lose inches if you combine it with walking/jogging/or elliptical work.

If you can spread your workout throughout the day, maybe going to the gym or walking at two different times in the day it keeps your metabolism going. You'll burn more calories and gain more endurance.

LOL...Just typing that wore me out!
