I would like to travel next summer. Does anyone know how to find nice vacation spots that plus-size women can enjoy? I don't like going to locations where I get hassled for being a BBW.
I think It's a good idea butter, I would check something like that out. You would probably git plenty of customers... "USA = The phat fat country" Their are so many of us plus sized people out their that it would be a profitable venture. Especially if you had ads at sites like this one. You should find out about stuff like which airlines have the most plus size friendly seating space and what cultures in different country's prefer bigger people.
Even if you do not have the means to travel, I suggest getting your passport anyways. You never know when you might find a deal to Paris! They are out there, trust me!
Now, quick questions for ya'll. I am starting a travel agency that willo nly cater to plus size travelers. Would any of you be interested if this service was available to you? Just need some feedback before I really get into it!
In Mexico there is a place that caters to large travelers. You can view the site and see if you like it. here is the place to go to freedomparadise. I know I want to check it out for myself.
1) Amplelady, I took your advice and g00gled freedomparadise. It looks like a great vacation place, except that they didn't get the response they expected from plus-size visitors. It looks like they will be splitting the place half-and-half between standard and plus-size facilities.
I have never heard of it...if I had I might have checked it out. They were probably not very good at getting the w0rd out. Oh well!
Kbtoyz,
I think I was in that thread, but it wasn't my recommendation. Hope you have a great time (dish the dirt when you get back), and have a great 30th birthday!
Promises - I'm not sure if it was you that recommended "Freedom Paradise" or not, but I'm going in late Nov to celebrate my 30th birthday!! THANKS!!! :)

At one time I would agree with that statement, however many people are interested in seeing other places but may not have the finances to or as in the case of my brother, he is scared to death of flying. There is only so far you drive! lol.
People - ease up on the hate! I did not mean to insult anyone. If you can't or don't want to leave home, that's your choice. I'm saying it's not my choice when the world is available!

I don't have a passport. I have been a single, low income woman most of my adult life and I do well to get out of town occasionally, let alone to another country. I wish I could, but finances don't allow. I'm happy that you can and I hope you find a fabulous place to go have vacation!
Musicnut, my comment about passports wasn't meant as an insult to people who don't have the means to travel. It was a comment on people who do, but don't consider seeing what's beyond their city limits. This doesn't have to mean foreign countries. I live in Canada, which has some of the most exciting scenery in the world. Next on my agenda is to start visiting some great places in my own country.

2) I take back what I said earlier about safety on cruise ships. After reading the latest People magazine, it seems that cruise ships are not that organized when it comes to passenger safety.

Cathii,
How can you compare sitting in your deck chair at home to walking through the Coliseum in Rome or on a beach in Jamaica or even shopping in New York city? The world is a very exciting place, and the real thing's a lot better than watching it on TV!
Nana,
Do you mean hassled because being a BBW is appreciated or not appreciated?
In my experience, in Mexico, Africa and most of the Caribbean, BBWs seem to get lots of attention from men. In Canada, the northern parts of Europe and the USA, it's the opposite.
