So...I'm outside having a ciggie (I don't smoke inside), when this woman driving by stops her car, get out, comes up to me and says "I Have some information for you".

And I'm think ermmmm....wtf?

So then she continues "this guy I was with last night was checking your truck (the landlords have one of those white panel trucks sitting in the driveway) making a list of things in it. I've been having alot of trouble with these people, they've been harassing me, and they're crackheads, and I think they want to come rob your house"

She then proceeds to give me an address where my stuff will be if that happened, but left without giving me *her* name or anything. To be fair, I never asked, I was too stunned.

So I called the landlord (I live in a basement suite. My Landlords live above me, but are out of town for the time being) cuz I am pretty sure it's his truck, and I told him a lady from the neighborhood stopped by to say she saw some suspicious looking people around his truck, cuz on the off chance she wasn't a nutjob, I figured I better give him a heads up.

But I was a bit freaked out last night. I mean, I am alone in this house. So I left all the lights on when I went to bed, and took the cordless into the bedroom with me.

And to think, I was wishing I had more excitement in my life.......

LOL Scoot, baby, wanna come be my bodyguard?

Seriously, I was too stunned by the whole thing to do more than the openmouthed, goldfish gape. I didn't even think to ask her name.

And so far, so good...been 3 nights now and no boogeymen.

Dee, you see?.. you should quit smoking...

kidding!.. lol

Don't get too paranoid, just install a 'motion triggered light' at your door, and maybe a fake cam on a high point of the house to deter (did i spell it right?) the freaks.

Thanks for the support, ladies. I did tell my friends, and some of them have been checking up on me. One has even grandly volunteered that if I get spooked at any time of the night, but no one is actually inor around the house that I can see, my friend will come over and check things out and chase away any boogeymen (He is former military, so he'd actually be effective).

My windows actually have these bar things on them, that you need a key for, so I am pretty safe that way.

Hopefully, the lady was a bit of a nut, and nothing will happen, but my guard will be up for awhile.

Dee, I feel for you! Not long ago the lady behind me told me that her son was outside having a smoke late at night and then all of a sudden a man with a beanie on was walking in MY backyard, saw him, and then jumped another neighbors fence. I told the other neighbor next to me that possibly a man had jumped from my yard to hers and the next day we found his footprints in some sand in her yard. YIKES! Luckily, my house is alarmed and monitored, but I still get the willies thinking about it. If you have windows put sticks in them so they can't be opened without breaking and keep the phone close. I hate that we women have to be so darned cautious in our own homes these days!!!!! I hope you are feeling better.

YIKES!!!!!!!!!
You know what 'they' say...."be careful what you wish for", but seriously, keep that phone charged and at your side, and a light on is a very good idea. Do you have a close-by friend that you could tell about this, just as a precaution, for moral support?
