Just wanted to hear what other people's thoughts on them are. Can they work? And if so, what needs to go into them to make them work?

Well I've had a couple of ldr's, one thing you have to know going in is, are you willing to give up everything you know and move to the other side of the world if you do indeed find love.

Well Ive had a few overseas and long distance relationships and friendships and it has all to be based on trust mainly

I am kind of on the fence with this one, I think they can work but both parties need to really put the effort in. They also can not be based on physical interaction only, there needs to be a real friendship there.

I honestly think long distance relationships can work if there is the promise of something serious and also if the parties are willing to throw their efforts into it. Nopwithstanding the fact, that u must really feel for each other. Thats my two cent.lol
