Hello everyone, just curious on how you all feel about having to pay to meet people on-line. I , personally, think it's a crock. How do you expect to meet someone if you can't communicate with them? Non-members can only "wink" at you, and when you e-mail them back, they still can't respond, it's not right. What good is a dating service when most of the people on it are frustrated with the mechanics of it. I feel everyone should be able to wink and e-mail each other freely. My gold membership up in a few days so this is goodbye. But i'd like to know what you think of this, thanks for your time.
Sue

Nope, won't be renewing. I've met someone that I'm hoping will be 'the one' and have no desire right now to pursue more. The forum... well, it used to be so fun, but it seems to be getting more frustrating and depressing rather than fun lately.

I agree music, the forums were fun and friendly in the beginning, but not anymore. And congrats on meeting someone! I truly hope it works out for you. And congrats to everyone else on this site who has been fortunate enough to meet someone. I'm still hoping to meet that special guy soon.

Haven't renewed here either.

If I wanted to pay money to get hurt all the time I'd go and visit Madam Whiplash.

Mind you, I've received a couple of emails recently from people who didn't have the "preferred" thing on their profile.

So I don't know what's going on.

But yes.. if someone emails you, you can hit reply and talk back to them. Anyone who tells you anything different is trying to get out of talking to you.

ummm...dunno who you've been talking to, but non members CAN respond to your emails. They just need to hit reply to the email they recieve in their inbox.

I've been on here for a year now, both as a paying and non-paying member.
When my membership expired in August I was adamant that I wouldn't renew. I'm torn now because I've had winks from a couple of real cuties and it's so frustrating not to be able to communicate with them...what's a girl to do?? lol
A few weeks ago I tried to reply to an email and failed. I reported it and was told it was a 'glitch' in the system.
I successfully replied to one at the weekend, so they appear to have sorted it out.
I think I'll give it a few weeks and think about it...maybe ask Santa for the membership fee

I agree with Theo... this site (and others like it) has to have revenue to stay open. Come on... you can't expect them to give you everything for free... and it isn't fair to give the free members the same access as those who pay. I have been a paid member for quite some time now but I will not renew my membership when it expires although I will stay as a free member. I am not here to meet anyone... I have already met mine... but I am here to meet friends and participate in the forums... which I can do for free. I have been a member of a lot of dating sites over the past few years and this one was the most successful in meeting genuine quality guys.

I think that this site is a business.

I also think it caters to a niche so it wouldn't be able to stay afloat if it resorted to advertising revenue.

I wasn't going to renew my membership but I think I probably am now.
