I can't say that I have an ideal first date. I like a lot of different things, and I am open to trying most anything at least once. But, as it is a first date, something sweet and simple would be a good start. Coffee and conversation sounds good.

A first date would take place after an exchange of written messages and some talking on the phone. I believe that with each stage something new is revealed about a person's character, manner of speech and personality. And, in case something feels utterly wrong, then there is no need to meet face to face. That said, a casual meeting over coffee or tea would be just right. It might extend to a second beverage if sparks fly. :)

Anything that allows us to talk and get to know one another better. Coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner, whatever. As long as there's talking. My preference would be more towards a more casual spot. Someplace where you can let your hair down and comfortably be yourself. I would also lean towards a breakfast date. You can learn a lot about a person by seeing what they're like in the morning. And you can't go wrong when there's coffee involved.
