My first date would be a fun activity like bowling, shooting some pool, hearing some jazz, or checking out a museum. Of course engaging in conversation to get to know each other more.

Ideal first date is anything that allows me to get to know someone a little better. Some kind of activity that allows you to interact but not rely solely on one another to keep the date interesting. Something like bowling or miniature golf. Dinner and a movie is very worn out...I fell like dinner is okay because it allows you to talk to your date but if the conversation fizzles out then you are stuck staring at someone over a plate of food. Movies are okay but it's hard to know what the other person likes and you don't want to see something sappy and feel awkward. And besides, you can't really talk during a movie.
