In danger of being clichèish, we would probably go out eating followed by a movie and maybe finish it off with a walk in the park. But to me it's not really important what you do on your first date, you can basically do any random activity, and you will feel pretty fast if there is any connection regardless of what your doing, and isn't that whats dating is really about? To find someone you like.

My date would pick me up before dawn and we would have a thermos of coffee or hot chocolate. Off to the beach we would go to watch the sunrise. Then we would walk along the beach and look for shells. Once the surf warmed we would swim and catch a nap in the sun. Then off to have lunch and showers and meet later for dinner and dancing.

A nice relaxed cosy pub, dosent have to be 5 star. it's easier to talk whilst doing something besides being public.
And I'd always pay my half of the Bill !
if all went well then you can spend the rest of the afternoon more privately either walking, seeing museums, Country houses etc or the ultimate treat for me an afternoon at the races - horses of course
