Is it me, or has any one else noticed that while you are driveing It seems everyone else is in a FREAKING rush to get some where FAST!I mean you doing 5 mph over the posted limit and Yet they pass you up like your riding a Turtle. Or they pass you and 5 other cars on a windy, hillyroad, a in a BLIND curve. Or the ever popular Driveing while talking on the phone , and shaveing. Or for the ladies, Putting on you Eye liner while driveing the speed limit(70) or the masterpeice . Steering with you knees , eating a burger , and reaching in the back seat to pick up some thing. Has any body else seen this type of behavior? Am I being an OLD fuddy Duddy? I have been told that I march to a differnt drummer. Hovever,I think I am NO Rush to meet my Maker.

Well I as a kid growing up have seen first hand the Deadly consequences of thease bad habbits, Driving too fast for the road conditions , Drunk driving, Excessive speed. My self personally by the age of 16 had seen things that would make most folks pass out . Because of wreckless driving Ive seen people Impaled on the steering wheel. Ive seen the carnage that not wearing a seatbelt and being launched through a windsheild can cause.Ive seen just to show off to their buddies pull a stunt causing them to loose control of the vehicle totaling it or worse to lose part of a arm or an leg, or worse. Ive seen a girl, barely a woman who a minute before was a like had hopes and dreams and unlimited potential, Dead because her and her boyfreind had an argument while driving and neither were wearing a seatbelt. Ive seen what 80,000 pounds traveling at 55 miles an a hour can do to a truck it hits because of excessive speed and driving too fast for the conditions of the road. Folks I think fail to realize that each moment is precious , and in a instant that spark of life can be extinguished by wrecklesness of themselves or of a Total Stranger .

I think you are right Island gal.I fear in this "Modern Age" We as a society has lost the the respect of circle of life and death . We can Eat Straw berries in December. We can artifically prolong life or replace bodily functions with a machine. But when was the last time you saw in real life life threating wounds, when was the last time you Had to place you hands over a Gaping wound to keep some one from bleeding to death. When was the last time you have seen the consequences of this wreckless driving? when was the last time you were awoken at 2:00Am by the sound of screaching tires, Crushing metal and ,Tearing flesh. or the Un mistakeable sound of a body stopping by impacting aginst a gaurd rail at 60 miles an hour? When was the last time you had to phone a mom or dad or some ones partner and tell them you found their loved ones wallet in your feild. As some one who had done all those things and more in my 46 years of life here on earth I have but one, Plea to those who do the Grossly wreckless driving. Please Don't.

No, Neal... I see it all the time and it pisses me off to no end. I usually shout something out of the window or blow my horn at them til they improve themselves and move along. My sister is like this. She leaves work and the minute she's in her car she's on her cell talking to her hubby.. she knows better than to call me cuz I make her get off her phone and yell at her for driving and talking... yet she is the WORST backseat driver I have ever known. Your not an old fuddy-duddy.

In your rocking-chair, by your window dreaming, shall you long, alone. In your rocking-chair, by your window, shall you dream such happiness as you may never feel. –Theodore Dreiser

I don't think it occurs to these people that it may cause their premature death - they think they are invincible!
