I know that the most sucessfull blogs are about sex, but I wanted to treat myself and write a blog that has nothing to do with relationships, men or sex. Fall is here. It's grey outside, it rains a little every day and days are getting shorter. I'm broke so I can't do my usual shoes or clothes shopping to lift my spirit and I've never been in this predicament before. How to lift one's spirit for free. What is it you do when you are tired, depress and feeling lonely, to make yourself feel better and for free. I know you are smart ladies... be as crazy as you want, just tell me what makes you not only feel good but what will lift you from the pit of despair. :-) (Ok, I'm being a bit dramatic here, I'm far from there... but I thought it looked good hehehe) I know my battery operated friend is one way... but I said sex is not included in this conversation, and please let's forget about the usual long bath or chocolate binge. Come on ladies, I'm counting on you.

also, try a walk around a lake or something. i live in a community where the townhouses surround a lake. take a nice little walk around it with a close friend or your date and just have a good talk about life, how you feel or just whatever comes to mind

Hi Petal,

I'm on a very tight budge, but that budget includes "mad money" even if it's only a few dollars.

What I do is play music, watch tv, lose myself in a good book, the library is free.

I write in my journal, sing in the shower, take a short walk. Are you close to the water? a lake? a river? Look for pretty pictures on line, look for webcams of the beach on line if you can't get there. I can send you one if you like. Look up New Symrna Beach, florida

If you google webcams you'll find a plethera of them with all sorts of things.

Do you have dill, parsley or fennel? Put it outside, but make sure you have lots first. THen you can breed butterflies. Or look on line to see what butterflies inhabit your town. What they lay their eggs on, the host plant.

I like writing also, I journal a great deal.

What did you decide to do?

Nat

Let's see...I love to clean house...LOL...im not joking either! Something about a rainy, cool day with the windows open so you can hear the rain outside...In the background I would be playing some old music...sam cooke maybe and in the oven would be a dozen chocolate chip cookies or apple pie! All the while I would be cleaning...ending the day with a long hot bubble bath! If it is a nice day outside I would be all about being outside...Im not a homebody...I would goto the Zoo or something fun like that, just to get out of the house.

Well....as I live in Wisconsin I can relate to the weather by you....it's getting chilly here and is a bit dismal although the leaves are turning beautiful. When I'm down on these days I love to bake....especially something that reminds me of fall such as pumpkin bars or molasses cookies or apple pie. The smells make my house feel cozy and I get a delicious treat to eat for the week as well. I will also pull out a good book that I've read before and that I loved and start reading it over again....or I simply call a friend and chat for a few hours about anything at all.

OH Damn Petale ...... I got nothing to say !!!! heheh LOL If Im feeling a bit down I listen to some inspirational cds, self improvement stuff, or read that sort of book. Usually find if I can change my mindset even a small bit it all changes for me. Also like babycakes said music and dancing will do the same for me too. Now I do have a nother way but have been forbidden to mention it here. :)

Life is only as wonderful as you think it is.

Go for a brisk walk - to hell with the rain! (You can make sure you have warm dry clothes to snuggle up in when you get home) Perhaps borrow a dog to take with you (maybe you have some elderly neighbours whose pooch would appreciate a walk?) Do something for a local or favourite charity - a couple of hours in a thrift shop, helping out at an event etc Root through your wardrobe/cupboards and see if you could sell anything on an online auction site - might help the funds for a treat such as a replacement pair of shoes! Organise a girls night where you can all bring along unwanted items to swap (clothes, bags, jewelry etc) All would bring along something nice to eat/drink too! Check your local papers etc for any free events either to attend or maybe offer to help out - could be a good way to meet like minded people See if there are any free or at least inexpensive classes you could take in your area Try for something new or different to what you might normally choose ..... "Do as you've always done and you'll get what you've always got" .... and best of luck!

Well I was not lady or at least the last time I checked. lol However one thing that lifts my spirits is watching nature, like watching squirrels at play, birds fliting about and deer peacefully grazing in a medow. Also the sound of flowing water is a nother that calms me down.
