This blog made me take a look at the series. At first I agreed about the whining but then I remember reading about reality shows and how they are designed that the contestants are fed lots of booze and are sleep deprived. This adds the emotional content. My other opinion is that these are young women who have yet to become confident and comfortable in their own skin. I believe that may come with maturity. I also question how someone can "love" someone in just a few short weeks. It is probably infatuation...wait until the first disagreement comes along...how that is handled will show whether it is truly love.

I felt the same way when I saw the show ... irritated and disappointed. I also thought the producers did a poor job of picking contestants, although most of the women are very beautiful. I thought I'd see women who loved themselves and despite the ups and down we all face as people of size, knew how to celebrate all that they are. Especially since the context (as it is here) was intended to be one in which it's understood that size has little to do with how lovable or desirable as person can be. Talented, intelligent, beautiful, caring, interesting and gifted people come in all kinds of different shapes and sizes, and deserve to be loved for all they are. Including, not in spite of, their full, round, generous curves. It's not all about weight or BMI, and I don't find it healthy or real to assume that it is. How is it more believable to see a woman cry over moments that are painful, and insist that a woman who knows that she is valuable and desirable is somehow lying to herself? That doesn't make any sense to me.

Well, try looking at the show just once before you judge me on saying they are whining.¿ Yes, BBw's should be proud and happy as any other women walking this earth.¿ And to be a very proud BBW on a BBW site it surprised me that those beautiful women are so down on themselves and I don't think the producers did there job in finding BBW's who loved themselves no matter what our society may say is beautiful...from one BBW to another!!

I agree that some of the ladies the producers picked are probaly are there just to add drama to the show (at the contestents expense ) The contestant Kristan in almost every interveiw was on the verge of a break down in my opinion. In almost every interveiw she was so distraught I wanted to just hold her and tell her it was going to be ok. I know how she feels.

I have to agree with you totally.¿ I will probably continue to watch the show because I know that there are a few just acting like wounded puppies.¿ Can't wait until the claws come out and you will see what makes a man love a big woman.

As for finding someone to love a big woman, there are many men out there.¿ Most don't seem to want to love but who cares as long as they provide the basic needs that most Big Woman really need.

A Big Woman does not need to have a man take care of them, we have overcome a lot in our lifetimes and have become independent and strong.

We need a man (or men) who can reach those spots that we can't get to.¿ And I have found that once a Man goes Big, he will never go back.¿ And to that we should all say "Amen."
