What I have in mind is toys that we played with as children. What was your favorite childhood toy???
(Okay get your mind out of the ... Never mind.)
I remember metal slinkies, paddle ball, jaxs, they funky stuff, in a tube, you would put a blob on the end of a thin straw and make a lovely bubble to play with, plastic bubbles I think it was called. Dominos, those airplanes you put together, they crashed and broke, dolls of course.
What do you remember and have you found them on the internet??

True don't feel peeved. My take on it is that n our day we had basic Lego sets with bricks, maybe a few wheels, windows and other pieces. What we also had was the chance to use our imaginations and creativity to make whatever we wanted.
Now the kids have a separate kit for every item they want to make with complicated instructions, stickers and other gadgets and gizmos. Where's the fun in the? LOL
As a kid I loved my selection of toy cars, my Lego and my Sindy dolls, but more often (weather permitting) I was in the garden on my bike, in my go kart, building jumps for my imaginary pony, playing badminton, swing-ball or generally messing about.
There was hardly and kids tv - only 3 channels of ANY tv - but we had these strange things called friends that we just did "stuff" with.
Happy days......
PS: Nat in the UK there is a shop called Hawkins Bazaar wher you can get some of the old fashioned toys, they are online too

I'm a bit peeved, though, that nowadays, kids have literally HUNDREDS of Lego sets to choose from. 35 years ago, though, Legos came in only one way, one size, one kind. I could have had SO much more fun with them, had all the variety been available when I was a kid! :( --True

I loved jaxs!¿ I also had the sweetest little finger puppet, a white mouse, but I lost it when I was about 5.¿ I had a Barbie (and the airplane and camping set), but I liked building things with wooden blocks and Lincoln Logs, and I loved my brothers toys, especially Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots and Smash Up Derby.¿ I was a bit of a tomboy.¿ The best thing ever can't be found on Ebay, though.¿ It's the dollhouse my grandpa made me when I was 4. ¿ Really excellent blog, Aimee. :)

The one of the toys I used to like were the I think the went by the name Areo- Copters. They were Plastic and about 8-12 inches long the had a thick Hook/weighted end on one end with two plastic vanes on the other end. You had a Elastic band on a Yoke that you hooked the curved end into , then you launched it in to the air , when it started to come down it twirled down like a big dandilion. the others were the Balsa wood Airplanes the ones with the big red propeller .Usally after a day or two I either lost it in the trees or the airplane had suffered numerious crashes.Or the dog got it and used it as a chew toy. Or one of my three sisters broke .it

My absolute favorite toy as a child was my baby doll that you could feed baby food to and give a bottle of water to and then of course it pooped/peed into a diaper. It was like having my own baby...LOL. Of course I also loved Barbie's. Had tons of them and even the Barbie Dream House. O.K. I will admit I still do have one of my barbies!

I use to love Legos as a 10 or 11 years old. I'd play with my little brother's and build houses, all kinds.
I don't remember many toys but we use to play board games... at least once a week. The rest of the time it was rope jumping, dodge ball in the street, flags and hide and seek. Not so much about toys for me, more about play.

With me, one of my fav toys was a wooden hand made toy rifle... To Explain, I loved country and western films as a young kid. My brothers had various hand made guns and rifles and the likes, one even fired elastic bands. One of these guns we adapted and brought up to date a little, after all there is an 8 and 13 year difference between my brothers and me. Ended up the best looking toy gun in the street it did.
Other than that was a Inflatable Metal Mickey, on a tracked base that could move forward by a wired control box ... to directions, straight forward and turned round slowly in reverse.
And lastly, was my Trick Stick, this was a bit of an oddity, but I had heaps of fun with it.
Thats my most memorable ones.
