VEGASANGEL is HERE!!!!!
Ladies, ladies, LADIES! I am thrilled to hear you are thinking about the bash. first go to the site if you haven't already.BBW network(dot)com. Look at all the pictures from earlier year's bashes to get a sense for it. Now, the bash has a costume party, pool party, fashion show, formal dinner and party and allll kinds of fun. I believe it is a 4 day event. It is expensive, but it's 4 days for that money!
As far as fun things to do here, well first let me tell you that I am cheap. Not like buying 2 ply toilet paper and unraveling it to make 2 rolls of toilet paper kinda cheap but cheap as in I am not paying 20.00 for a salad etc.. Secondly, locals grow bored of paying 20.00 for club admission, 10.00 for a long island iced tea to get into a club with standing room only where your feet will inevitable be killing you by nights end.We have accepted "reality" life in Vegas and have settled into the status quo of walmarts, McDonalds, churches and the site and public transportation.
Now, with that being said I can direct you to get a tooth brush and toothpaste at the Bellagio's shoppe where the price you'd pay for colgate makes it more of a luxury than a standard brand or to the walmart where you can get it for under 3.00. So, when you decide what your budget is, then it is easier to ration it and get the most bang for your buck. Save your big money for the show tickets, yard long margaritas that come with a neck strap and access to the wax museum where you can take your yard length margarita brazeness and take photos of yourselves in funny poses with the elvis likeness! Ahhhh, something for everyone dearies, something for everyone!
Next, it will be July, high time for deathly strong sun and heat - dress and prepare accordingly! Also while exploring the newest sites on the strip you may tend to loose track of time and before you know it would have walked quite a bit. Make sure you have comfortable shoes!
As for shows, there isa place called " show tickets tonight" and "half price tickets" where on the day of the show you line up at like 11am and see what you can get for half price. The seats are great, not to worry. Plus most venues in Vegas are very small and intimate. I had front row tickets to Tom Jones 2 times when I went with my mom. Security had to ask her to back up from the stage as she was scaring the crap out of him..LOL.
As far as clubs, well I will be honest. They are packed, loud, overpriced and full of stick skinny 20 somethings that like to hang in their packs and just stare from across the room, and if you are a woman alone regardless of your size, age or what you look like..there will be some wolf-man ready to try to hit on you, ESPECIALLY if he can sense that you are tourists( That is their favorite prey as they hope to get a "one nighter" with you and then you'll be gone). I think it is better to face these clubs as a group versus solo.
As far as my favorite things to do, I like the bowling here, rollerskating, walking the strip and people watching and checking out the free outdoor shows like the dancing fountains at the Bellagio, Pirate show at the Treasure Island. Then like the other lady said there are more fun things to see for free inside like the lions at the MGM or the fish aquarium at Caesars palace. I love to lunch! There are so many great buffets and visually stimulating places to dine. The rio has a great buffet, but it is like 25.00 dollars now - but all you can eat and a gazillion choices!
Well, I've talked your ear off. I hope you decide to come out. I am from California and have made Vegas my home for 2 years now and I love it.
Take care! vegasangel76
