In recent times I have had it mentioned to me that being a natural red head and being "fiery" that I must have a bad temper.
Seems its stereotyped like the "dumb blonde" (sorry) comments we have often heard.
Now when faced with this sort of "expert" knowledge how does one defend oneself?
I personally think I'm one of the most even tempered people I know. If I do get angry I will go quite till I have calmed down and then I will want to talk about it, calmly. I'm not one for screaming scathing fights, despite how good they say the make up sex is. LOL
So do we really have preconceived ideas about other peoples behavior according to their physical appearance? What do you think? Is there a basis of truth to them?

¿ ¿Well I suppose I should be thankful that this is only one part of the stereotype of redheads, otherwise I may never get a date.¿ LOL I think that anyone can get mean given the right situation, and I¿m sorry that you got some of that in your past relationship. Thanks¿bedrumblueyes4u , I always try to keep the chin up and smile, keeps the wrinkles at bay. :) ¿

Now be honest... you go through all the pictures and profiles on a dating website. How are you going to decide which one you're going to contact and which one you're not. Yes that's is... on misconception. I'm not proud but I've done it and I believe it's part of being a human being.
I've also been on the receiving end of it. I find it always amusing when guys ask me what I like and I mention long walks, swimming, and other type of physical activies. The surprise in their voice is a dead give away. Do they think that because I'm a larger woman I can't move. Are they assuming that I got fat because I don't move??? Those little buggers of misconception.
¿Yes I agree that first impressions are important and that we make decisions based on what we perceive. I guess I am bit annoyed that with this type of misconception you are lost to begin with, for despite what first impression I make, there is an underlying judgment there. I do have to admit that one misconception that I have is about guys that can¿t dance well, you know stiff as a board type.¿ LOL

I have low blood pressure, low blood sugar, and low cholesteral. The automatic presumption is always that I would have high blood pressure and high sugar levels. Thank goodness for genetics...
As for hair color...I am a "natural" gray...does that make me old?
I absolutely love red hair and so do many men ;) ... thank you Clairol!
OH yes Olivia have heard that one. I also hear that being fat is being lazy. Which we know too is not true.
Though I am a redhead, well I'm slowly fading to a natural grey as well. So I guess that will make old and bad tempered? LOL

Well thanks for posting, that is good to know, as I dont know another natural redhead so I could not say if this was something that was meant to be a typical trait.
I'm much the same as you, though I admit, sometimes I do yell at the kids :O
