I'm curious, if you're not happy being single, having trouble finding someone to spend your life with, is it wearing you down? Are you ready to say... " the next person that walks into my life... " ?? OR resign to be single with no significant other? What are your thoughts? Aimee

Compromising is a WHOLE other story. I will MOST DEFINITELY compromise, since any potential partner will likely compromise for me. But "settling", to me, seems more like lowering my standards--most importantly accepting someone wholly, who doesn't do the same for me. Just my interpretation. --True

Sorry, but that is a guaranteed failure! I want a true, lasting love. I think I will "know" when it happens. If not, then I hope I am still complacent. :) --True

True, I totally agree with you on that one. I'd never do that either. I've had my share of offers and I've turned them down. I will compromise some thing for the right person to make room for him in my life and I know that he will do the same for me. I've never felt that compromise is necessarily a bad thing. Settling is another on of those words that dredge up negatives however, I will settle for one man out of the masses. We will settle on each other and that will be the best for both of us. When I go to the store I settle on a product. It's not a negative to settle , it's the positive for finding the right thing for you. Yes? Natalie

Hi K14075, Thanks that made my day. I've always felt that you have to be attractive from the inside out. I've seen some really evil woman in my time and it showed on the surface too. I've been meeting a few men, one just recently that has my attention for sure. Life has it's own agenda - every time I think I'm in the drivers seat life just laughs... Happy Thanksgiving!! Humans are gregarious by nature.. Always look for someone to live your life with-- growing old alone is certainly no fun and not the way to go.

No! I am not happy to just accept anyone because I get tired of the dating game nor I am resigned to being single without finding my significant other. I have had the most wonderful year, with the potential partners that I have met, and have learned something new from each encounter, something that has allowed me to grow and know better who I am and what I want. I have felt it in my bones that I will meet who I am meant to this year and in many ways I have, though I dont know if I have have met the "one" as yet, but I am enjoying the journey. Aimee I really do think its all about your viewpoint, your thoughts do create your reality. Good question and dont give up. :)

petale46... never give up hope! Hope is what keeps the flame burning deep inside us. Being content and happy with where you are at this time in your life is what matters. I have learned the hard way that being with no one is better than being with just anyone. Ladies... don't ever "settle"!!!!

I'm kind of in a limbo right now. I've set my mind to never finding someone I will have a really deep relationship with. I've given up on the idea... but the hope is the hardest to get rid of. I still catch myself hoping to meet someone one day. So I'm not close to the idea, I just don't think there is someone for everyone. I will add that I prefer giving up then settling for something that is not what I want, deserve or hope for. So I'd say I'm happy living with myself, would rather have someone in it not because I need him, but because the companionship would be nice. However that being said, I won't blow my head off if I don't meet someone and won't have regret... because I did try to find him. I didn't choose to be alone, it just happened.

I'm very happy being single. I've stopped looking a while back, I've stopped beating myself up for not being able to find "that special someone". And you know what!!! I found that I'm much happier then I though I would be, I also found that I like who I turned out to be. The burden of looking is lifted off my shoulders and I can enjoy my life without having to answer to anyone but me...

I'm not totally ready to give up. But I'm giving up on a lot of guys. Haha, if that makes any sense. I mean, I have a few takers, but they seem all talk. No one wants to commit anymore, but maybe I don't either. Haha. And I know that usually you find someone good when you're not looking, but it's hard not to look.. It's hard not to try to find it because you don't want to miss the chance or something like that. At least that's how I feel.

I THINK THAT ALL SINGLE PERSONS GO THROUGH THEESE TYPE OF FEELINGS AT ONE POINT, SO DON'T FEEL LIKE YOU ARE ALONE. IT'S JUST NOT SIMPLE TO FIND LOVE THE WAY WE MOST OF US WERE GROWN UP TO THINK IT WAS. IT TAKES TIME, PATIENCE,AND TRUE DESIRE TO FIND THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE, AND EVEN THEN YOUR CHANCES TO FIND TRUE LOVE ARE SLIM. IF YOU ARE LIKE MOST OF US, YES YOU GET TIRED AT TIMES BUT STILL WOULD GIVE YOUR RIGHT ARM TO FIND TRUE LOVE & HAPPINESS. DON'T FEEL BAD MY DEAR, JUST GO WITH YOUR HEART AND DON'T SETTLE FOR JUST WHO COMES FIRST,LOL. DEDICATE YOUR SELF TO FINDING WHO YOU DESERVE AND GO FOR IT, THE REWARDS CAN BE SO GREAT. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP AND DON'T BE ASHAMED TO BE SINGLE AND LOOKING BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE ARE AND JUST LIE ABOUT IT. YOU WILL FIND LOVE, WHEN LOVE IS READY TO FIND YOU, GOOD LUCK, GOD BLESS.

It wasn't until I gave up trying to find love that it found me. I think sometimes we try so hard to find "The One" that we get caught up in the search that we forget that love is not something you can "make happen" or force. I had to accept my life as a single woman and be comfortable with who I was all on my own. I had to be content with being single first. The day I "gave up" and was deleting my profiles on every online dating site I was on (including this one) is the day that I met the man who would become my husband. God forbid if I should ever find myself single again, I am confident that it will be different the next time around because of what I learned. I truly hope you all find what you are searching for... but don't forget that sometimes what you seek is right beneath your nose.
