Just sitting here reading the blogs with a nice cup of coffee, it has been a lot cooler these past few days in sunny So. Cal. While the seasons don't change as much here as they do in other parts of the world, I do have to say that Fall is still my favorite time of year. It starts getting cooler, and while I don't really like it getting darker earlier, I still like the chill in the air over the hot summer nights. I love Football, pumpkins, getting together with relatives over Thanksgiving, the turning leaves and the wonderful crisp feeling in the air. What is your favorite season of the year and why? Just thought it would be interesting to see everyones responses.

I think spring is my next favorite season. Everything growing, new green leaves, new flowers blooming, the cherry blossoms so pretty. The weather is beautiful too, none of that humid hot weather we have been getting in the summer lately. I love when the daffodil bulbs and tulip bulbs start blooming, they are so pretty. We have a tulip field here in San Diego county, it is spectacular.

I went right off autumn yesterday ..... it was a beautiful day so I went for a walk. Saw a lone dead leaf on the ground and was about to step on it to feel that autumn crunch. My foot was hovering over it and just in time I realised it was actually something a dog had left behind. Did a little hop and skip to avoid it, only to see it whisked away on the breeze. Yes it was a leaf all the time ..... got me some very funny looks, lol

Sitting by my fireplace with some wine or hot cocoa and watching it snow is an awesome experience. 3rd would be spring because by that time the snow gets sickening. My tulips also come up. Least favorite is summer....I have nothing good to say about it....lol....hate the heat and humidity....unless I am swimming Kris

I love them all ... I really do. I think I like best the fact that in MN they really do change completely, from one to another. I love the warm days and cool nights of Fall; putting the down comforter back on the bed and leaving the windows open just a little at night, the color, the wind and the crisp air. I like hearing the geese, ducks and loons at night or overhead as they get ready for their migration. I love the scent of wood burning fires, and the way Fall makes me want to cook ... deep, rich, comforting food. Winter is a calm that is hard to describe. The first snow fall is still a little magical, so is Christmas. If I can afford to it might also mean skiing a few times when it's a good season. It's going home early, curling up with a good book (a good man would be better!) or in front of a fire if I'm lucky . 3 a.m. on a starry night, in a place that has real winters, there is a peace and stillness like I've never known anywhere else. Spring is probably my favorite. Everything comes back to life, including me. And the joy of it ... all the possibilities and promise, the relief of leaving Winter behind, is like being born again. Summer is perhaps my least favorite, but only because August can be so hot and humid. I still love long, warm days, all the summer fairs and events, weddings and getting together more often with friends. I rarely wear anything but Birkenstocks and Chacos between May and October, if I can help it, and I love that.

I'd probably go for Spring .... the days getting longer and warmer, festivals and holidays to look forward to, and lately in the UK better weather than the summer gives us!

Fall - temperate primarily and the leaves turning colour, smells of bonfires, kids back to school, Thanksgiving....then leaves rustling and dancing across the street. (unfortunately leads to winter but I like having the changing seasons - part of living in Canada)
