sdlrglady don't let money or the lack of it stand in the way of getting lap band surgery. As for me so It has been the best money I have ever spent( so far). mine has cost me less than 20 thousand for the doctor and hospital cost. That was Cash on the Barrel Head. Is it the perfect answer to being over weight , No but it is a tool to aid one in modifying their behavior to become healthier, It also will take work to exercise to help keep the excess weight off. Before I got off my duff and got real serious about getting healthier my weight was over 450.Through diet and exercise before surgery got down to 407. It has been three weeks , haven't got on a scale but I feel; a lot better. The F5 hunger I had has now been turned into a Harmless hay devil. It has helped, I know that I Must modify the way I think and feel about food.and make positive , healthier choices .

I had my surgury on June 26th. So I haven't beeen on a scale yet.So I dont know how much I have lost.As for recovery time I had one overnight in the hospital ,then was released around noon. I had 5 incisions 2, under the rib cage . 1 on each side , 1 next to the belly button and 1 on each side of the belly about 6 inches up from the navel. The largest was where the fill port went in about 1 inch long the rest could be coverd by a regular bandaid. As for pain, I did not have much the first day. (Gosh IV drips are great!!!) The main discomfort was the leg cuffs they put on to stop blood clots. By the second day was up and moving around. Just a little sore ,like when you are in a car crash and the shoulder harness holds you in .

Congrats on the weight loss! How was recovering after surgery? How long were you down before you were able to go back to your regular routine? I have been considering this surgery for a while now. I hate pain and am scared of the recovery time.

So glad you are feeling better already. Make sure you get enough protein. I ended up lying on the couch 14 hours a day 'cause I wasn't getting enough. That is so not me! If you have a GNC near you they have a great koolaid-like product called isopure that helped me back into the swing of things. Get the ready-made stuff in bottles, not the powder(yuck). It is such a great feeling as the weight comes off. I loved it when I would wake up in the morning and could feel I was lighter than the night before! Take care!
