Quoting canuckcountess:

Great question! If I've just met someone once or twice and don't want to meet again or take things any further, I prefer to be Canadian [translate: polite] and will say "I don't feel I am suited to you and thank you for the nice time. Best of luck in your search for that certain someone!"

I feel this doesn't leave anything open for discussion and even if I thought they were less than truthful with me, or that it is them who is not suited to me, I like to leave egos intact and remain polite but firm.

I hope everyone will be brave and open to 'telling it like it is' but I do find some will as you say, fade into the woodwork. Too bad as we each have an opportunity to be kind to one another, don't you agree?

Cheers! fran

Yes, I totally agree with you Fran,

Yes, being honest and if you just can't bring yourself to say that, then tell the person that a past relationship has asked to have a second chance.

I usually feel this is not a fib, as the relationship is between myself and my honestly.

Hugs

Nat
