This is my first Valentine's with someone special in my life. What gift have you received that you loved or what have you given that was the perfect gift?

Stanno and I have decided that time is the best gift to give each other. This weekend we are staying in a wonderful hotel for Valentines. We were going to do it the weekend after Valentines but I am moving to a new place so we moved it up a weekend. Thanks for some great ideas and there are a few that I will be using in the future.

This will be the first time in 11 years that I will be with the one I love on valentines day. We have a whole weekend planned since it's my son's birthday the next day. :-)

Those are awesome ideas. I've been on my own for quite a while but I used to make home made cards before it was the "in "thing. I also made a big red felt heart shaped cushion ,trimmed it with lace and embroidered I love you on it. Since I'm not a very good sew er my husband knew it was a labor of love and was delighted that I put the effort into making it.

Re: bluegirl2006 write: Last year for his birthday I gave my love a scrapbook I had made of our romance to date... lovely cards and emails he had sent me, acknowledgement of gifts, our little inside jokes, etc. He really loved it. So much that he asked me to update it for him at Christmas. :)

What a wonderful idea!! And having someone that appreciates something like that is really special. I'm so jealous *wink*. I haven't done anything with anyone for Valentine's day in a while. I sometimes make something for myself though. I have an accordian book I'm working on that's romance themed and I made one for my girlfriend that was about why she was special to me. I'm such a romantic at heart. I still have cards and letters from my boyfriend in HS around here somewhere.

last valentine's day i filled a large jam jar with some heart shaped sweets, heart foil confetti and little strips of pink paper that i curled and wrote everything that i love about my man on them, sprayed a little perfume on them and wrapped a red ribbon around the jar with the label "a jar full of love" on it. i also stuck some valentines card topper shapes on the jar. it took me ages but was worth it from the look of surprise and happiness on his face when he opened it and when we're apart he still reads the little bits of paper in it now :-)

The most perfect gift I've ever received was the gift of time. Time is the single most expensive thing anyone can give another person. We don't know how much we have. Have fun on V-day.
