I was watching Men In Trees, a rerun tonight. In this episode the main character was brought to a man who helps others with spiritualism. He told her to put her troubles on rocks, write one word on a rock. Then go to a mountain ( the show is set in Alaska) and toss the rock off the mountain. She did and said it was very cathartic. Now I know one of her rocks said Fear. I was too busy thinking of were I could find rocks and a marker to hear the rest of her troubles. It sounds like a very positive thing to do to release your troubles. Now where do I find rocks to write on? Nat

This got me to thinking what I'd write. Possibly ..... "I'm scared of being hit by a rock when out walking"

I have not watched Men in Trees before but I think they stole that from me.lol When in high school and my college years (at this point I realized that finishing this story would show you guys what a redneck I am, but here goes) our thing was to hangout on the Northfield river bridge. Every weekend after the local ball game we would take our beer and meet on the bridge. Well, after a few of the beers were gone it seems we always had one of those sad drunks, the kind that brings down the whole bunch down. As we discussed the problems in our lives we would throw rocks in the river. I didn't, at that time, know we were going thru therapy. We didn't write on the rocks but we threw them as we named each problem.

SweetCarmel, first WELCOME BACK !!!! Second, I have to agree. When I was a teen ( another lifetime I'm sure of that) I dated a guy for three years. I found out that he had gotten someone else pregnant. I took everything he ever gave me and tossed them down the sewer. It felt good to physically release from the "things" in my mind. Since learning Feng Shui, I have come to realize that this is letting go and when you let go you make room for the rest of your life. Today I'll be cleaning out my closet and bringing the things worthy to GoodWill. I'm also going to find some rocks in the form of paper -- write a trouble on it and SHRED IT !!! Hugs Nat

I have a friend that does something like that; she buys foam pieces from Michael's or that type of store - She writes her problems of the week on those, puts them a in large garbage bag and sits them on the curb each week for the garbage man to take away...each week she actually watches them pick up the bag and toss it in the back of the truck. She has been doing this for several years now. She started right after her and her husband broke up. She says it makes her feel better to watch her problems get tossed and crushed in the back of that truck each week.

You can try garden centers, home improvement places (Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.), craft stores, etc. Happy hunting!!
