Come ON guys! This is getting absolutely ridiculous! I thought I'd do some searches (In response to the "law of averages" blog). So, I searched--basic age (35 to 45yrs old) and 100 mile limit parameters. Guess what I found? A lot of SLACKERS! Do they really expect honest, hard-working, true-to-self, looking for love women (or even men, for that matter) to respond to the following(?):

Come on True let him come your way but give him a way to communicate I always wanted to know what happens when one falls off the "edge of the world". Before anyone ask me I'm too chicken to go jump and try it myself.

Dirk-- Folly Beach is advertised as the "edge of the world" here-- you might fall off and be lost. You should stay on your side of North America. I'll be sure to stay on mine!

No offense, Jan 63. Just callin' 'em like I see 'em. Literally. This is what they have posted for the WHOLE CYBER-WORLD to see. Their words, not mine. As for making comments, and "calling out", I understand where you are coming from. However, like I said. This is cyber-space. ANYONE has access to this-- even non-members (like me.). They do not have to contact me to have me see their profile; it's a public search engine and we are encouraged to use it. Ergo, if it's something they don't want us to see or blog about, then, in my opinion, don't post it on a site -- especially one with a blog! Personally, I have absolutely NOTHING in my profile I wouldn't talk about in a public place because I think that's the safest thing to do here. But, to each his own, and my respect for your opinion. You are a much more forgiving woman that I would be.

I actually agree with you Ms. Friend. But your statement doesn't just apply to the men on here, some of the female attitudes stink too.

Hey True! Ok, first, the good thing is: you're looking! You're not letting things hold you back. As to the profiles out there, yup, there is a definate gulf between people looking for sex and people looking for a relationship. I suppose there is a silver lining to this, too. It makes the trolls stand out. If I had a complaint about how profiles break down, it would be that too many of the non-trolling profiles are dull or incomplete. I am really looking to get a sense of someone when I read theirs, and far too often I come away with NO CLUE as to what this person might be like. For me, an example of a good profile would be our friend Timothy5 's. It is complete and detailed and heartfelt. Alas, I haven't had any luck in contacting those people whose profiles do stand out for me. Maybe mine doesn't work for them or . . something . . . no way of knowing. Anyway, keep looking. It is (alas) the only way to find the connection you are looking for. *hugs* Amy
