Hello, This is a USA current events survey. Yes, it's a little off topic. Contribute if you want. Ignore if not please. 1. Gas in Central Arkansas is around $2.75. What is your price? 2. what's the reason for the price increase? 3. Should the US just get the heck out of dodge in Iraq? 4. Isn't time for Iraq to be divided into 3 countries: Kurds, Shiites and Sunnis? 5. Do you give a hoot about the political fussing over the replacing of federal prosecutors by Attorney General Gonzales or is this just another stupid beltway fuss? 6. Who do you think are the leading candidates for president on both parties? Who are the least likely longshots.? 7. Do poor need tax cuts or would they be better served with more services such as housing aide, allowing people to borrow money from the government via authorization of an interception of next year's income tax refund, etc? 8. Should child support be tax free for the payor and taxable for the recipient? 9. What's the best way to run school districts and fund them? State taxes? Local taxes only? both? Local control? State controls? 10. Shouldn't business developers, ie shopping centers and new subdivisions, be required to pay to widen roads in front of their centers and subdivisions so traffic doesn't back up just because they want to bring in new business? 11. Was IMUS screwed out of a job for his stupid comments that are just an example of a old white guy trying to be funny using the Hip Rap-Hip Hop Language? Don't these Rap songs refer to women and things in far worse ways? Are Sharpton and Jessie Jackson really qualified to be a moral spokesman? Didn't they both get caught using racial or other slurs... ie Sharpton referring to New York as Hymmie Town in the 80s or 90s? Again, answer here or break part and post comments

1. Fluctuates between $2.65 and $2.80 a gallon. 2. Supply and demand in a man's world. 3. No. The US need to prioritize or re-prioritize our actions in Iraq. Why are we still there? Are we really helping? Where the f*ck is Bin Laden? 4. Now how can dividing Iraq unite the Iraqi's? I just don't understand this concept. 5. Gonzales is a sneaking, conniving, pocket-picker like the rest of them. I wouldn't trust him with my ex-husbands mother, and I hate that b*tch. 6. Hillary 7. Tax cuts are needed for poor, lower and middle classes. 8. WHAT? Do you know that my ex husband only has to sacrifice 13% of his ANNUAL income to help me support OUR children? 13%!! That is less than $600.00 a month. That doesn't even cover after school day care expenses! Roughly 4.5 times that number is MY contribution. No, there shouldn't be ANY taxes taken out on child support payments. 9. State and local taxes, local control. 10. Yes. Why should I have to pay for it? It's enough that I'll wind up wasting my money there anyway. 11. You always lie in the bed you make. He is old and white, he should have known better.

In your rocking-chair, by your window dreaming, shall you long, alone. In your rocking-chair, by your window, shall you dream such happiness as you may never feel. –Theodore Dreiser

Here I go... 1. I currently do not own a car, so gas prices don't really affect me. But I do believe they are much too high, and it is due to greed. 2. YES, the US should just get the heck out of dodge in Iraq! If I go any further, I will be here for a long time... 3. Attorney General Gonzales is definitely hiding something and should be further investigated. 4. As for the candidates, I would say Hillary all the way! But, being realistic, will a woman really ever be President in this country? 5. I think the poor would be better served with tax breaks. 6. Now, as a single mom, I have to say no to child support being taxable for the recipient. As if we do not have enough to deal with being single parents in the first place...with only 17% of his paycheck going to child support, while 75% of mine goes to the care of my kids, how is it fair for me to pay taxes on it? 7. As for the school districts, I am a Home Educator so this also does not affect us directly. I lost my faith in the school system a long time ago. 8. As for Imus and all the others, people really need to think before they speak. It doesn't seem as though a lot of people in the public eye take the time to really contemplate their words before opening their mouths. They should all receive some type of punishment, perhaps it will send a message that this sort of behavior will not be tolerated. Should he have lost his job? Maybe. Maybe not. Perhaps a donation or some type of community service would serve him well.

Well here is my .02 Gas is just too high all over, but still cheaper than other parts of the world. Why, my opinion just plain greed. Iraq, I'll pass on this topic. Atty Gonzales, yes concerns me dearly since he is the head of DOJ and I think he is hiding something trying to protect someone. Leading candidates. Hillary Rodham Clinton and McCain All non-wealthy need a tax break and a government that cares. Now, to Imus...No, I don't think he was screwed out of a job. I don't think he should have been fired, but I think his own stupidity is what got him fired. Having the defense others are doing the same thing is not a great argument either. It doesn't matter what anyone else says or does; You are responsible for your actions. That was true when Mel Gibson made his stupid remarks and it is just as true now that Don Imus has made his. I don't care if 50 other people had said it before him, still doesn't make it right what he said. I think the punishment should have been 15% of his salary to the Women's Athletic Department of the University and 10% of his salary to the UNCF. Now, what are thoughts on the Duke Team - their lives were turned upside down over a lie...

Here are my two cents worth on petrol (or gas as you call it). I believe it has become extremely overpriced!!! I may be mistaken but dont you guys in the US buy it by the gallon (which is 4 litres)?? Ignoring the exchange rate (because I believe it is all relative to where you live and cost of living, etc..), you are actually paying half of what we are paying in Sydney. I put petrol yesterday and I paid $1.30 a litre. My full tank costs anywhere from $75 to $95 depending on the cost of the petrol. It is crazy and very frustrating...as my pay has not gone up at the same rate!!!

Good questions. Something here for everyone to contribute their two cents to. Here is mine on the Imus issue: Besides the obvious, (that his comment was racist and sexist), what riled me up about his disgusting, deplorable comment was that it was aimed at YOUNG women. Women who are representative of the best of our youth. Because these young women are doing something positive with thier lives, they have a good chance to be contributors and leaders of society, instead of a detriment. There are too many stories about American youth who feel that they do not have a future. About youth that are so discouraged and/or too lazy to work for what they want, let alone even graduate from high school. I am THE cheerleader for any young person who has the desire to do something positive with their life. And to me, Imus' comment was akin to spitting in their faces. So that is my two cents on the Imus issue.
